I'm thinking about going to the Pirate dinner show with DD4 this December. Has anyone done this? Is it a good show? We've done Dixie Stampede and Arabian Nights and enjoyed both of those shows. How does the Pirate dinner compare? Any info would be much appreciated!

Pirates spent a LOT of money on their set and it really shows. It is very elaborate and cool to look at. That is the good news. Unfortunately the elaborateness of the set detracts from the show, IMO. The show itself is hard to follow, especially when it is not directed specifically at your section. Some of the actors are very easy on the eye, but their dramatic skills are a bit lacking.

Of all the dinner shows I've been to, Pirates was the worst as far as food goes, IMO. Some of the stuff was unrecognizable except for the servers identifying it for you.

Your DD might enjoy the show b/c of the audience participation but I really don't think the show or food compares favorably with either Dixie Stampede or Arabian Nights. You mentioned that you've already been to both of those shows, but did you see Dixie Stampede during the holiday season? They do a wonderful Christmas show featuring a living nativity scene that is just beautiful.

we are going to Disney in two weeks and we were with friends today that just got back. They said the pirate show was not worth the money - the food was bad and to save our money. We have boys so we are always looking for cool things. I don't think this is a good one.

Thanks for the info. I think we'll sit this one out. I'll have DD do the Pirate Cruise at the GF instead. She's really been on a pirate kick these days.

That sounds like a great plan. My friends' son is 4 3/4 (heaven forbid you say just 4, lol) and he loved it. They do a great job with the kids on the GF Pirate Cruise and they get to bring back a whole bag full of pirate booty! :) Plus, while your DD is on the cruise, you and DH can treat yourselves to a wonderful spa adventure at the GF spa. Have fun!
