I just got off the phone with guest services-

The guy I spoke with said that the Pirate Adventure schedule is showing Mon-Saturday at GF- thru November.

This was NOT the case last year. He was as shocked as I was.. Could this information actually be correct?

It seems highly unlikely.

Maybe they expect more people buying cruises?
Maybe, I know that when I tried to get a reservation, in September '15, the GF ones were all booked up.

I just can't imagine one being everyday, or able to be filled 6 days per week. I'm planning a morning around it, so hopefully the info is correct.

Curious to hear an update on this.
The website says everyday and I had planned it (in my head) for a Wed from the GF for our 2017 trip.
Occurred to me recently that it may not be offered that day...

my guess is that the GF is by far the most popular, since you can get there from MK, whereas the others are a bit out of the way from resort to resort. We had booked the one at PO last year, and they called and asked if it was ok to move us to GF because we were the only ones booked (and then there were only 3 kids total on that one when DD went). we have another one scheduled for CB this summer--DD loves it!

Wow you were lucky!

We stayed at Poly and were walking on the dock when the pirate cruise pulled up. My son wanted to go so badly, just couldn't get a spot that week (didn't try to get one elsewhere), and we did rent a small watercraft which he loved so that helped take him forget about the pirate cruise.

But I am determined to get a reservation this time! I hope this info is correct, I'm planning on a Tuesday.

Did you get an email from Caribbean Beach telling you that the Pirate Cruise was changing to Pirate Camp? I ask because we leave Friday and my daughter was booked for the Pirate Cruise on Sunday. When the alligator situation happened and they started putting up fences around the water, I got nervous that they were going to cancel or alter the cruises. I called 2 weeks ago to check and was assured that they were going to continue as planned. Then, last night, I got the email that it was changing, no boat would be involved, and that we will be able to cancel without penalty. I wanted you to be prepared for them to have changed it just in case you hadn't gone yet.

I wondered about this as well...
I thought they were cancelling every water adventure that involved the lakes, lagoons, etc...

I thought that there was a chance that they would, as well, which is why I called when I did. Frustrating that they said that everything would continue on as normal when they very likely knew that this change was coming. It's also irritating that they still have the cruises listed on their website. If you want to cancel or alter them, fine. That's completely within their right. However, since they clearly already made the switch, they might should change it on their website and give a person more than a week's notice that the change is happening since I'm pretty sure they have known this change was coming for a few weeks now.

we had the cruise booked at CB for June 26. I was called the week before and told it would be a camp--and that there was no penalty if we decided not to do it. (the beaches re-opened on the 22nd i think). We learned when we got that the CB is a bit unique, ot normally offered the cruise 3 days a week and camp the other days anyway. So--they already had an alternative in place. My DD7 liked the camp (she did the cruise at GF previously). Either way, she loved both experiences, and I would say its worth doing. I will be disappointed if they cancel long term. I do see how some parents might be nervous about the boat.

Can you tell me the differences? My daughter was excited about following a treasure map and getting her own little treasure at the end. Does anything like that still happen?

And, must admit, pretty ticked that they let you know a week before your cruise, just like me, but then told me only a couple of weeks ago that the cruise would be continuing as planned. Clearly, that wasn't the case back then.

no treasure hunt. they did some pirate games, including sword fighting. They did a craft where they made their own pirate flag, had snacks, and towards the end, they made their own treasure map and hid a treasure for us to find (in the immediate area). Our DD loved the experience at GF, and was disappointed when i told her it was a pirate camp instead, but since we had already set aside the time to do it she tried it--and said the camp was different, but also very fun.

Thanks. My daughter said she was wanting to go on the boat and not interested if it doesn't take place on one. :confused3 Oh well. The good people at Caribbean Beach explained that they can't dock the boat on the beach with the beaches closed and are trying to find a way to work around that. They suggested I try Port Orleans Riverside since they don't have beaches and the boats dock at an actual dock. They had availability so we were able to switch.:thumbsup2

We're booked for the Yacht club cruise in Dec but if it turns into a Camp we will cancel. My daughter really wants to do the treasure hunt.

Can someone confirm whether the cruises are continuing or have they all changed to camps now?

Camp???? If they are changing this they need to let people know with more notice.

I think they only changed the cruise to a camp while the beaches were closed. They offer a Pirate Camp that is separate from the cruise which I just booked for Dec, it is at night, has anyone experienced this one yet?
