pins

We collect the pins, but usually only during our trip to WDW. We don't bring the old ones with us, instead we only start with new ones once we arrive and always try to get the unique ones with some classical styles.

i did the 1st year i went but didnt understand the pin swap thing so just brought the ones i liked, this time in feb im guna do it :-) x

My DD(6) plans to trade and collect pins this first trip to Disney World. I bought some off of ebay and she has a Tinker Belle starter lanyard with 2 styles of pins 2 each. I hope this will be a fun extra activity for her.

My 12yr old daughter and 7 yr old dtr both trade pins. The 12 yr old tries to find certain themes and trades for those pins, ie. parking lot pins or monorail pins. The youngest looks for pretty pins or a character she had just seen. I will purchase 30 or 40 pins from the ebay store at a cheaper price so the girls have some pins they don't mind giving up. It is fun to help the girls find certain pins and it allows the girls to talk with some of the cast members. :thumbsup2

I both collect and trade pins. I don't do the series ones, but I do like to collect the hidden Mickey ones. Just got into trading last year and it's a lot of fun. There are CMs with - I think it's a green lanyard, but someone will correct me - who will ONLY trade with children, that way the kids can get some nice pins, too. I don't bring my collection with me but I do have pictures of them on my digital camera so I don't get doubles, which I have done in the past!! Enjoy! :thumbsup2

I purchase pins for my 2 kids (11 and 16) and myself and we take them to Disney and trade 'em. We all like Stitch pins !

I do! I just started last year. I won a lanyard in the mail from YOAMD and took it this trip and kept on adding to it. I didn't trade though but I sure did buy a few new ones!

My DS12 collects and trades pins and he loves it. This year we are hoping to start our DGS2 collecting and trading. Although we are not sure he will get the whole idea, but it will be fun. Happy Collecting!!

it is expensive, don't start. once you get addicted you college fund will go right out the window
