Hi, I'm new to this board. I am working on our Honeymoon scrapbook from Disneyworld and am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to incorporate our pin collection in the book. We are not big on pin trading, any pins we got we will not trade so I doubt we would ever take them back with us and I would love to put them in our scrapbook but am uncertain of a good way to do it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
THANKS!

I didnt use the actual pins in my album, but I wanted to incorporate them like you did. So I made a color photo copy of the pins, then cut around them and ran them through my Xyron to attach to the page. It turned out pretty cute.

If they're not Limited Edition (LE) and you don't mind kinda destoying them... you can just cut off the pin back and attach it with metal glue or pop-dots(my Disney Husband (DH) did this for me with just some wire cutters).

(added some of the acronyms as I found these confising when I first joined the board :) )

Kerry thats an idea i never thought of . cutting the pin of the back & then using in a scrap book page , thanks for that idea :thumbsup2 another one to try & store in my brain :lmao:

My marathon album has a nice thick padded cover. I just took off the pin back and pressed the pin part through the inside cardboard of the cover - they don't stick through the padding.

Another option is the new Martha Stewart Shadow Boxes (@ Michael's). I used one to put all our Pins from the 50th trip in and we have it hanging next to pics & our ears. You just take off the rubber back and stick the pin into the padded shadow box. Perfect size. Only tip - lay out your pins before sticking, if you decide to move them the previous pin hole is pretty obvious.

I have been thinking about this and I think what I plan on doing is to take the pins put them onto a pice of felt....then scan them.....then print out a photo of that scan.....I take pictures of my guys in the act of "trading" pins...all of this someday...will be a 9x9 album....

WOW! :cool1: What a great idea! I would have never thought of that! I have already picked out a handful we traded that are "so-so"... meaning that for my son or I they are cool but have no special attachment. Thanks for the idea!:thumbsup2

I've been working on something, as we collect not trade. We started collecting pins from our travels years ago, and we started out putting them on our travel bag/backpack but decided that wasn't the best idea after discovering the stick part of one had broke off (no worry about losing them, as I invested in a ton of them locking backs). So, my latest and greatest plan is to make an altered Corkboard. I bought a decent sized corkboard and sanded the frame and painted it black, then painted the cork red, then dry brushed red on the black and black on the red. Now I'm thinking I will cut a Micket out with my Cricut and place a couple squares of paper on the board and/or a saying, then modgepodge it. I'm currently torn, so haven't finished it. My DS9 fell in love with the corkboard, which also happens to match the colors in his bedroom....actually more than what I wanted (the red is more of the Chinesse Red than a Mickey Red), his room is done in the Chinesse Dragon theme (Black, Red, with hints of Gold). So, I'm debating on finishing this one for him or just continuing on. It may be best since it's a perfect match for him, and he's always wanting to tape his drawings to the wall....we just moved into a new house and I'm not keen on the idea.

Enough rambling........this is what I'm going to stick our pins into, then hang it in my (soon to be) Scrap Room.

I have my pins on a cork board (I'm acutally in need of a second one now) and it's a great decoration
