Pins and the summer sun

I just got the pin bug in February when I went to Disneyland. I wore a lanyard with my pins on it and it was fine - but the weather was 55F! We are going to WDW in August, and I am wondering about the best way to wear or carry pins - I am worried that those pins will be blazing hot in the Florida sun! Any suggestions?

Well we go to DL all year and we just wear our lanyards. But I've seen people with vests that are covered in pins, hats or even belts. I've even seen a few people with pins for trade on the straps of their camera bags.

We go in August all the time and just wear our regular lanyards.

Some days we wear our lanyards but it tends to bug me a after a while. I have one of those plastic pouches that go on the bottom of your lanyard. I carry my money and ticket in there so I don't have to bring a wallet.

Often times however, I just plain get tired of wearing my lanyard and carry pins in my camera bag and just a couple in my pocket. So whenever I want to trade pins I pull one out of my pocket. If it's a keeper, I put it in a seperate pocket of my camera bag so we don't accidently trade it.

I think I will still take the lanyard then but maybe keep a bag to carry pins too. Out here in Phoenix I have gotten burned by jewelry in the summer! So I guess I am a bit cautious about things. Thanks all.

But you're not wearing your pins all around you lanyard right? I live in CA, it gets hot, my jewelry has never burned me. Neither have my pins. My clothes protect my skin from that.

Metal necklace or bracelet + 115F heat = burn, learned that my first year out here in the desert, so it's never happened again. I don't expect it to be that hot though.

I have never found it to be bad but your neck will sweat and that makes the lanyard kind of yucky.

I get it, it gets that hot here where I am, not for days on end but 1 or 2 or 3 a year it will actually get that hot. I wear a necklace and a certain bracelet every day, I've never burned myself on either one of them. And no FL shouldn't ever be that hot! YIKES!
