Me again. Hope everyone doesn't get sick of me asking questions. I am such a rookie at this thing. Never been to WDW and want to make sure our family enjoys all the magic, and from what I have been reading on the threads there is SOOOOOOOOO much magic to know about!

We are staying at CBR and will be receiving 2 pins/lanyards. What is a lanyard, and what do I do or how do I use it. At first I thought it was some sort of "tankard" DAH! After reading some of the threads I realize that it has something to do with pin trading. I went on a site that told what to do and not to do when you trade and what were the new pins, but I still do not have a clue how to start. HELP!

There will be 3 of us and only 2 pins/lanyards. How do I go about getting a third?

Hi Fatbot -- There are pin carts all over the world where you can purchase lanyards and pins to trade. Even The Disney Store if you have one nearby. In fact TDS just had a big pin sale where they were less than $1 each. In the Parks pins run around $7 - 8 apiece. They have pins for everything, characters, rides, resorts, etc. I don't worry too much about all the rules. My kids will just go up to a CM with a lanyard and ask to trade, a pin for a pin. The kids love to do it. My DD collects Pooh pins, DS likes attraction pins and other DS likes anything to do with movies. So they all have their favorites to look for.

The lanyard is the starp that is worn around your neck that you attach pins to.

Pin collecting is great but can be addictive. Your kids will love it.

I'm sure eventually this thread will get moved to the collectors board, but you may want to vi

The folks there will love to share their passion with you. It started "officially" October 1999. Guests and Cast Membersd trade with one another. There are posted "rules of etiquette" that make it fun for all.

Mostly you may trade any pin you own, with any CM and as long as it follows pin trading guidelines. It has to be a Disney pin, and the CM cannot already have that pin on their lanyard or vest.

You will have so very much fun with this and you cannot believe the long time far away friends that you will make doing it.
Have fun

Moving this to the collector's board for you.

What are these posted 'rules of etiquette' in regards to pin trading. We are going to WDW at the end of April and I have some pins for my 5yo DS. I would like to know if he will be able to trade, and how?
