Ok I know my DD and DS are going to want to do the pin trading thing.
My ? to you all is if I order cheap pins for $1.75 which I have been looking at online, will the CM trade pins for better ones with them. Do you have to goto the pin trading spots to trade or can you just hey want to trade pins? :teeth:

CM's throughout the parks, resorts and shops wear lanyards. Provided it meets Disney guidelines (Disney copywrite on back) a CM must trade as long as they don't have the identical pin.

My DD has traded 100+ pins and only with CM's. We don't trade with other guests as it can get complicated.

I just bought some of those pins for $1.75. They are a bit smaller than the pins that the CMs wear at the parks, but they do have the Disney copyrite on them, so they are tradable. I think it will actually be easiier to wear them on a lanyard.as they are lighter. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about these pins untyil we returned from our trip. i put them aside as stocking stuffers for my DDs. We;ll trade them in two years when we go again.

where can I get some of those 1.75 pins? Thanks!
Go to MousePinsOnline.com and click on the June special at the top right hand side of the page. You'll find a very interesting account of a pin trading experiment they did recently. The three categories of pins they are selling for $1.75 this month are "101 Dalmations", "Jungle Book" and "Oliver & Company". Today, June 30th is the last day for these particular pins. Beginning July 1st, they'll be offering three different categories for $1.75 each, but I wouldn't pass up the June specials if I were you. There are some really cute ones there. I bought a bunch of them, intending them only for trading, and now I'll probably wind up keeping some of them because they're so cute.

The ProPins from MousePinsOnline have the Disney copywrite, and are definitely tradeable in the parks. I would guess that trading with other guests would be a whole different ballgame, since they aren't obligated to trade, and I assume they could ask for two or three small pins in exchange for what they consider to be a "better" one - right? My understanding is that the CMs always have 12 pins on their lanyards, and if they don't already have the one you want to offer for a trade, they have to let you choose one from their lanyard. Do they ever have any on their lanyards that are exempted from being traded?
