Pin Trading questions

wow nice bag how much was that in park?
also mousepins.com is a grate site
$38 - The bag measures approximately 14" wide by 13" tall. The four inside pages measure approximately 9" wide by 12" tall each. You can find lots of pin bags / books (varying sizes and designs) at www. disneypins. com Type "bag" into the search field and 50+ items come up.

I was trying to find a site that lists the most recent hidden mickey/cast lanyard pins but I couldn't find one. The disney site still have the 2005 list up. Anyone know where I could find that info?
Here you go

Second Sign of Addiction: Checklists :rotfl:

I think we got it at the French Market...not at the Tomorrowland Terrace (we never eat there.)
Nice pin.

What are fantasy pins?

Fantasy pins are pins that have Disney characters on them but are not copyrighted by Disney. They are designed and purchased from outside companies not affiliated with Disney at all. I got some really cute ones, license plates, some with villans, Tink but none are tradable with CM's. I just keep them in my book because I collect Tink and Maleficent. :) They should be clearly listed as a fantasy pin on the auction.

Whatever you decide to carry your pins on, watch out for the backs. The black Mickey-shaped ones that come with can come undone very easily. I nearly lost several pins while walking last time. You can purchase bags of the locking ones on eBay for quite cheap and they hold them on to lanyards, etc. much more securely.

BTW - that pin is so CUTE!!

Here are the pins I've gotten from ebay so far...I'm sure no one is interested, but I'm bored.

(I put them on an old belt to take photos since I don't have a lanyard...haha.)

I love the Mole one - very cute! I like the hidden Mickey pins too :thumbsup2

Nice choices. The FastPass pins are really popular. I have a few of the monorail pins. I think they are really cute.

My favorite in my collection are my Muppets. You can see them on the bottom of page 2 here. I had all but Gonzo. Searched for MONTHS on Cast lanyards. Finally found it on a kids only lanyard!

So.... hehe gave a kid 2 pins. 1 to get my Gonzo and 1 to get any pin of his choice. Hey, gotta do what you gotta do! LOL

At first I was worried about my monorail pin because it doesn't have a mickey head on it. But I did some research and they released monorail pins three times. The first time they didn't have mickey heads on them. So it's one of the older ones (from 2004.) I don't know if they are more rare or more common than the ones with mickey heads.

Those muppet pins are cute!

Correct, none of the early cast lanyard pins have a mickey on them. Like these here; however, they should have a stamp on the back that says Disney's lanyard pin series (as shown at the top of the page in the link above).

Generally, the older a pin, the more rare. However, I am not certain on that particular series when it comes to "rareness." I just collect the ones I like so I don't study up on rare / value, etc....

The back of my monorail pin is stamped "cast lanyard series."

I'm just collecting the ones I like...but it's interesting to see if they are rare or not.

They roll out barrels at 1 or 2pm for trading in Frontierland near the shooting arcade. Usually two "Master Traders" come out looking to trade. We stumbled upon them and they were very friendly and gave us some great knowledge for beginners. We also started talking with another vacationer from Illinois who had a bag of hundreds of them...many from parks all over the world. He was telling us that his favorite park was Disneyland and how people don't realize how lucky they are to have it as a home park in California. I agreed.

Have fun collecting. It gets expensive especially when you've got little ones.

We have that Mole set. It's actually the characters from Mr Toad all in their cars. That was fun to find!! They have those pin trading books in DL, in DCA (at PT Flea) and in DTD but they aren't out in DCA every day in the off season. Those are good pins, that clock goes with a suit of armor and the bride from HM. :) We have the bride but we never saw the others. Oh well, gives us something to look for next trip. :) There are tons of those monorail pins, we've got a bunch of them but they don't seem to go together so we use them as traders. lol Have fun!!
