Pin Trading Question...

Hi all. Does anyone happen to know about the prices of pins? Are they cheaper any place on Disney than anywhere else on Disney? Do the hotel stores sell them? I have 4 children who are so looking forward to doing this, but I don't want every penny I have saved going toward pins! Any help would be appreciated!

I gather that pins at WDW run $7-15 depending on the pin. That's too rich for my blood, so I'm getting mine off eBay.

Now, they are considerably cheaper on eBay, but a lot of them are apparently "scrappers" or unauthorized, inexpensive reproductions of real Disney pins. It's hard to find inexpensive, authorized pins, but not impossible.

There is a thread on the Collectors board here about pins, and I've managed to find a number of sellers on eBay that look legit. Problem is, their pins are still on the expensive side. I was warned to look at the sellers and see how many pins they are selling. Those that are selling a lot at $1-2 each are probably selling scrappers. Look for people with smaller lots that indicate they bought or traded for their pins. Or look for pins that are still on cards.

I just won an auction of legit Star Wars pins, 4 of them, still on cards, for around $11, including shipping. I've found another auction that I'm pretty confident about (seller was listed by a member as being ok). Those pins are going to run around $2.10 each with shipping.

My daugther loves to collect the pins. I am thinking of looking on ebay also. I will be careful to try and not get scrappers. Im hoping to get a few that collectors are trying to get rid of. She just wants a few to be able to trade with. She has a lot of nice ones and when kids want to trade, some of them don't have the same quality that she has. So she just wants a couple of cheap ones so she can relax, have a good time, and trade with

At the parks we usually buy the sets of 6 for 30.00 they are starter pins. But however for our disney cruise 2 weeks ago we bought a lot of 200 on ebay and they dissappeared the first 2 days. There is however separate pins on individual sheets that range in a variety of prices.
