I am going to WDW in 8 more sleeps and have a few questions about the pin trading. First of all, is there a starter kit you can purchase or do you just buy a saah and pins individually?? Are there trading stations all over the park? How much are the pins? Where do you get your sash or pin necklace thingy? :rotfl2: I thought this would be a great souvenier for my girls to have and bring back in the future, they are 9 and 6. Any suggestions or stories about pin trading? :teeth:

Your kids will LOVE Pin Trading! I have a DD5 and a DD7 and they've traded 2 years now. You can buy a starter set for about $25 that includes a lanyard and 4 pins to keep or trade. Almost all cast members (employees) wear a lanyard with all sorts of pins on them and your kids can trade them for whatever pin they want on their lanyard. It's so much fun!! My little guy keeps trading and now he's got a lanyard full of Stitch pins! You can also buy pins all over the resorts and parks for between $6-$10. The Pin Trader store in Downtown Disney is GREAT! They have all kinds of starter lanyards for your kids to choose from!

HAVE FUN!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

You may save a few dollars by doing a search on e-bay for disney pin starting sets. Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!

If you have a Disney Store close by, check them out for pins. I found some on clearance a while back. I also saw some sets that were reasonably priced. This will get you a jump before you get there.

I am going to start this for my DD7 & DD4 in August because I htought they would relaly love it. I got some great tips from these boards (of course), you could do a search but here are the one I thought I should mention:

CM's wearing a green lanyard will only trade with children under 12-seems perfect for my girls

Perhaps for younger ones, limit the trades to 1 or 2 per day and that way it does nto become so obsessive each and every day and take up park time. I think I may tell my girls that we can only trade up tp 2 per day and also only after lunchtime on.

Perhaps do the keepers on 1 side of the lanyard and traders on the other side so they do not accidentaly trade one they will be upset about later. I also read to put the 2 traders in Mom's bag/pocket not even on the lanyard to make it easier for little ones.

Just thought I'd share these great tips I had gotten.
Have a magical trip!
