My two teen DD's traded pins for the first time last summer and loved it. When we go back to WDW, I'd like to take them to some of the pin trading nights I've heard of, but I can't remember the details. Can someone tell me which resorts have them and when? Is is fun even for someone who doesn't have the kinds of pins that serious traders are looking for?

Also, I heard there is a class (or something?) about pin trading in the MK certain days. Can you fill me in on this? Thanks!

Will be going in Sept would also like to know about pin nights

Hi Julia,
Pin trading takes place on Friday nights at 7pm at the Contemporary resort on the 4th floor. On Saturday nights trading is at the Polynesian resort at 7pm. On Sunday's at 1pm, Scoop gives his pin trading seminar at the exposition hall in the Magic Kingdom and pin trading usually follows his talk. On Sunday nights trading is at the Boardwalk resort at 7pm.
Have fun!

Just wanted to comment on the Boardwalk pin trading. I was there for openning night, and it was crazy. Keep in mine that since this is an "outdoor" area, it is not a smoke free environment. I won't go back again, because of my allergies. People were smoking under the covered area even though there were tons of people, and lots of children running around. Other than the smoking, the kids' trading area is very narrow and cramped. But don't get me started on the parents leaning over the fence yelling at their kids and telling them what pins to take off of the kids' trading board. After watching that, I was ready to leave.

Just wanted to add that Scoop's seminars are Sunday through Thursday.

I wasn't that impressed with the Boardwalk meet either. The fact that there were a lot of people crammed in the covered area wasn't helped by the fact that it was outdoors and still hot and humid. The smoking really didn't bother me, but I just didn't find it a very comfortable trading environment. Maybe it's because I only recognized a couple of people there.

Since I usually stay at the Dolphin or Swan, I'll probably go back when I'm there (it's a VERY easy walk from the Epcot resorts), but it won't be a must do like the Contemporary meet.

Thanks a lot for the info! I think the girls will really enjoy the trading at the Polynesian and Contemporary.

I appreciate the reviews on what the trading night was like at the Boardwalk. The girls both use wheelchairs, so small, crowded spaces are really hard for them to get around in, and one of them has asthma, so the smoking wouldn't be good for her, either.
