Pin Trading Etiquette?

Hi -
I am new to the whole pin trading thing and have a question. I was at the pin store in DTD and while I was making my purchase, a person comes up the CM to do a little bartering. They finish their transaction and then another person comes up and again, I have to wait to complete my transaction. It reminded me of when the saleslady at the department store stops ringing me up to take a phone call.

I tried to be patient, figuring that it was the pin store and that traders brought in a lot of business, etc. However, the same thing happened to me at a little shop in MK, where I had stopped to buy my DS a hat! I didnt mean to be rude, but I had to sit there mid-transaction while the CM and the trader had a conversation about their trade!

This makes me think that there is some unspoken rule. Or am I just a big crab to think that the traders should have waited in line?

Please don't think I am anti-pin trading. My DD and I had a great time with it last week.....

Thanks!

I make a conscious effort to wait until a CM is done helping someone else or ringing up a sale. Often I just pass on trying to trade with them when they are really busy.
I don't think there is any rule other than the CM is suppose to help all guests.

I never interrupt a CM that is helping someone. If they are at a register and I see a pin I want, or want to see their lanyard, I get in line as if I was making a purchase and wait my turn.

There have been occasions while I was waiting patiently, another pin trader has tried to interrupt and I would say that I was waiting to trade as well but was waiting until the CM could finish helping their guest. The other pin traders would usually make a noise of disgust, especially if I traded for the pin they wanted, but I'd usually end up having a nice conversation with the CM.

Just as in everything else, there are people who are considerate of others and there are those that are rude and self-centered. You just happened to run into a few of the latter. Those of the former may have been around, but you didn't notice them because they waited for you to get done.
