can the advent pins that are on sale today at disney shopping be used for park trading? thanks

The Official Pin Trading rules state that as long as the pins have the copyright Disney on the back they are good to trade. I've purchased many Disney Shopping pins and traded with no problem. I bought some of these today & plan to trade the ones I don't want. FYI, some poeple have been saying that some CM's have been refusing some of the old Disney Store pins recently. If you encounter a problem ask for a manager. I would also advise having a variety of pins to trade, not just all Disney Shopping or Disney Store. I periodically weed through my old pins & decide which ones I really don't like anymore. They end up in my trader bag.

We've even purchased discount trading pins at the outlet stores in Orlando ($2each) and traded for some fantastic ones at the parks.

Hi,

I went to the Disney Shopping website, but couldn't find Advent pins - can you post a link?

Thanks much!

Thanks, now I can see them. And what a nice idea! I love the Advent season - reminds us of the 'reason for the season', you know?

Those pins are nice... I can't buy them to trade or I'll wanna keep them... :)

You might want to try ebay for pins.. I bought some lots of pins on ebay and am very happy with them...

here's a pic

Just a question ... I don't pin trade but I think it is a great idea! I love looking at others pins! Anyway, do the cast members pay for the pins they trade ... just wondering why they would "refuse" to trade any pin??? Are they charged for them ... if they get a funky pin in place of a good pin are they penalized???? :confused3 Are they punished if they trade a wong pin???

CMs don't pay for any pins they trade while working in the parks.
Some CMs of course buy pins for themselves, as there are Cast pins that only CMs can buy in a Cast store.
I think the "old" DS pins are nice. I own MANY myself. (That I bought for full price AT the DS when they were for sale. Mnay of us guests even stood in line for a LONG time, EARLY in the morning to buy.)
I suppose because at that time they were $4 + a pin. When at that time park pins were around $6+ a pin they could be considered cheap pins. :confused3

Either way, the Disneystore.com pins are tradeable on Disney property and are a very good deal! :thumbsup2

There are some who dump literally bags of unwanted pins on CM lanyards through trading. (Bootleg, VERY cheap pins, and/or extrememly common pins no one wants, etc.)
But they should trade as long as an adult is not trying to trade from a child's lanyard, or they don't already have the same pin on their lanyard that a guest is trying to give them. CMs should not have duplicates of the same pin on one lanyard.
When you see the same pin sold in large (but cheap) lots on Ebay, personally I would never consider buying those to trade.

Thanks for the info Luv2Roam!!

I would not be good at pin trading .... MINE, MINE, MINE (to use NEMO Seagulls phrase!!!) :teeth: so would find it hard to LET GO! My couple of pins will stay safe and sound either pinned to my fanny pack or on a lapel.
