Hi everyone. I am looking into purchasing a lot of pins for my family and my friends family to use for pin trading when we go on our trip in August. I was hoping someone could PM me any names of reputable sellers on ebay. I am fairly new to pin trading so I don't really know what to look for. I just want a lot of pins for a reasonable price. Thanks!

Since this isn't a question about buying or trading pins in the parks, I've moved it to the Collectors board. :)

If you check the huge thread below there are quite a few good sellers listed. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of

thewill
dcvwinner (but he doesn't have anything listed right now)
sleepys_emporium
dnamayer (I don't think he has any listings up either)

there are more but I will have to check my saved sellers. In the huge thread below there is also a list of eBayers that you might want to avoid as it would appear that many of us have received scrappers from them.

Hey, I know you! :) You're on my list of good sellers. :) my eBay name is different but you should recognize my real name. :)

Actually feedback is one of worst ways to check if a seller is good or not. Once you've left it you can't change it, so if you find out later you got scrappers it's too bad. I do look at feedback and see what I can find out but I don't rely on it 100%. I look at the pins up for sale, see if they are rack pins, lots of Hidden Mickey's, new Hidden Mickey's, regularly scrapped pins (once you get some experience under your belt you will start knowing which pins are scrapped regularly) or if they have thousands of pins up for auction available in huge lots. Those are all red flags for me and I tend to shy away from them. But that's just me, I know others have other ways of checking.

I have read negative things about BBBCollectibles but I've never ordered anything from them before so I can't say at all. Read the thread below, I know, it's huge and scary but it's very educational and has a good listing of eBayers to use and eBayers to avoid in regards to pins.

chipanddaleandpooh is another good one. :)

There have been a few people that have had problems with them on this board. I actually just ordered pins from them, so I will tell you if they are scrappers when I get them in a few days. The previous person said that the seller was rude when questioned about scrappers and that they did not know what a scrapper was. My package should be here in a few days. And also, if you do order, and you receive scrappers, you are covered by PayPal since the item description says that they are not scrappers. ;)

Feedback is not always true! A lot of people cannot distinguish between scrappers and real pins!

Chip_and_dale! is a good seller, I believe also.

Another red flag is if you can't see the individual pins you are auctioning/they use the same picture over and over again. Also, if they sell multiple of the same pin, they may be scrappers.

Not in my case, I received scrappers from 2 different sellers. I called them on, it they got rude and nasty, I filed w/Paypal and I got nothing. Because I couldn't prove they were scrappers Paypal sided with the sellers not with me. :(

leave feedback of any kind until I check out what I have bought.....Only then will I leave it....Hopefully, others do the same, and then you leave bad feedback......

Where is your real name? What did we deal? LMK, PM if you want......Was it the lot of pins??

See, the feedback worked, I am a good guy :lmao:

That's awful! They are supposed to be on your side. You could probably take them to Disney and show them to some CMs and see what they say. I'm sure if they say they are scrappers, it would be sufficient proof.

Well me neither BUT when I first started buying traders from eBay I didn't know what scrappers even were. So I'd check the pins, they looked great and I left positive feedback. Now I know what scrappers are and I'm much more careful with my feedback.

Kerri :) And yes, it was the lot of pins that got lost by the post office. You sent replacements and all was well. I still didn't get the first set, did you ever hear back on that tracer?

It wasn't worth it honestly. And it was a while ago, probably about a year now, maybe even longer. One of the sellers isn't even on eBay anymore, he got booted not long after the dispute was closed. I'm not really close enough to DL to do that so I just let it go. But yes, Paypal was so not helpful for me in that case. I've heard they are better now but I don't know.....
