PIN help pls

I am confused about how ppl become aware of a PIN earlt and how they work/become public, etc... I am looking at going to POR sometime in Sept or Oct. Our dates are flexible. We've missed out on FD for PoR for the Sept dates (all booked). Is it possible it would eventually become available in Oct? How would I find out? Should I book now and hope it becomes available?

PIN codes are sent in the mail to a select number of people. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who gets them. You can also call and see if there is a PIN attached to your name or the name of anyone traveling with you. I called every few days and finally there was a code under my mom's name!
