Just got the free dining pin in the mail today and it has my sister-in-law's first name on it but our last name and address. :sad2: This is the second time in a row this has happened. My SIL never goes to Disney and does not live with us. She has had her married name for 12 years now, not sure why a pin would show up at our house with her maiden name which is our last name, of course! I have never gotten a pin and we have stayed on site in 2007 and 2010. We were deciding between onsite and offsite for this July but without a discount, we booked offsite. It's so frustrating. Not sure that we would switich but does anyone know if we can use this pin if it was sent to our house with our last name but a different first name?

I would absolutely try it! From what I've read here, it is the address that matters. And it has your address and your last name. I'd just call and go about using it and if they ask about the first name difference, just say it's your sister (inlaw?). They already have her as living at your house so they don't know she doesn't actually live there. I called the other day and asked if I had a pin in my name, could my DD20 use it for an upcoming trip I'm not going on and they said yes, she could book a trip using the pin that had my name, our address. I don't think you'd have any problem, but if the cm was being difficult, you could politely get off the phone and call back to get a more helpful and knowledgable cm. Good luck! I hope you try it and get it, so I'm gonna check back here, lol! :goodvibes

It's been said that it has to do with your address not the name. I would call and ask, the worst they can say is no. Just say, I have a pin# and give it to them and tell them they have your first name wrong!

My frustration with PINS is that I NEVER get them :confused3

After 25 trips, you'de think they might realise I like going to WDW!

I've ordered the planning DVD many times over the years and now have a wall full of them! ;)

I wish Disney would send out PINS to their loyal repeat customers :rolleyes1

Vent over, now checking my email just in case :surfweb:

I booked online with the exact same situation and it worked! We had the same last name and address and it was easily booked. Got the confirm and paid it off so we are set!

They changed the first letter of my last name. I have thankfully been getting pins with both names now. I may not be going this year but my daughter is.

My pins have only ever verified my last name and address, that just might work for you.

The same thing happened to me 3 yrs ago. I got a one of those postcards with pin in the mail. It was in my mother's name, but my address. Now my mother doesn't live w/us, nor does she go to Disney. A few years I took her w/us on a Disney Vacation, so it's possible that's how they got her name. Anyway, I called and explained the situation and was told it doesn't matter if it was in my mother's name because it was my address. Bottom line, I was able to use the code and booked the trip. Good luck:thumbsup2

Thanks, everyone. DH and I talked about it last night and decided to stick with Bonnet Creek for now. My MIL may be joining us for a night and she will be able to stay in our 2 bedroom suite at BC, there would be no space for her to stay with us in a standard room at Disney. It is good to know for thre future that the pin should work for us since we are now getting them frequently in SIL's name. Just wish Disney would send the pins directly to me since I am the one who books the trips!
