Ok, so we finally received a postcard today with a PIN for 20% off
BUT, when I called to make ressies, the cast member told me that I could get the room 20% off (CBR) but could NOT book tickets and the DDP  We're not going without the DDP, so I told her not to hold the room. Is this right? It's room only? I can understand that the tickets and the DDP would not be discounted, but I can't even book them if I want the 20% off? Please help!!

This is correct - most of the time discount codes are for room only reservations - and if you want the DDP you must book a package.

Not the answer I wanted, but what can you do? :confused3 I was hoping she was wrong :) Gotta love the disboards though, so nice to have so many Disney experts just a few clicks away.

I tried looking at your old posts to see when you are going but I cant find any.

Did you know that aaa allows you do to get their resort discount with a package...saving you 15-20% off the room portion of your package. Looks like you would be talking 15% which in regular season saves you about $27 per night. Even if you had to pay for a membership, you would break even on that in less than 2 nights and be saving the 15% for the rest of your trip and get the DDP. If you book with aaa (check first to be sure your agent is willing to do this if not find a different one because you can use any not just your local one) you can still change to a different offer if one becomes available (you still only get one or the other but booking aaa doesnt exclude you from being able to get it). Some agents charge booking/mailing fees but not all do. AAA gives you a few small added benefits + you then have regular aaa benefits should the need arise. AAA usually quotes + insurance so besure to address that as needed.

Thanks for the advice, Beth cam. We are going the last week of April. We did get a quote from AAA and will be going with that. Unfortunately, they do charge a $15 booking fee. Booking the DDP is a must for this trip, so we will just go with the 15% discount instead of the pin for the 20%. Thanks for all of the great advice! :)

remember what I said you can book aaa with any aaa agent in the country. You dont have to pay the booking fee. My aaa agent doesnt charge it and although she is local for me I was referred to her from someone out of state who told me that some aaa agents charge a mailing fee for your documents that she doesnt charge either.
