I've just started collecting pins and am looking for a way to display the ones I buy. Is there a site where you can buy display boards or what ways do people use to display their pins please?

Hi ya long time no see. I hope you are well.
This is vice that is easy to get into.Mostly whilst I am collecting sets I have them on cork boards. Then I frame them
Here are some examples.

Hi Nikki! Thank you for your reply! I'm not planning to trade - just to buy pins which are if interest to me - hotels we've stayed at, our favourite rides and characters etc. Those displays look great! I'm sure I can remember you talking about maps of the park which you buy from the Emporium to display pins - or am I dreaming?
Hope to see you next May!!!

There were maps but they were for the stitch invasion series and were a limited edition.I will try to scan one and send you the file if you like but it will be big.

Oh, I sort of had it in my head that it was something like a layout of the park that you could attach pins to - eg: a BTM pin on the area where that ride is in Frontierland. Shame! :p maybe I should suggest it to DLP!!! :rotfl: But Rhiannon and I both love your framed pins so we'll probably adopt that idea. Thanks for your help!

How did you frame them? are the frames shadow boxes? or just normal frames? What kind of backing did you use to stick the pins into?

Sorry for all of the questions. We, a family of five, each came back with a lanyard filled with pins, and I assured the kids we would display them.

They are either ordinary frames which i removed the back and put card the cork tiles cut up. The Lanyard pins one was just a frame which I painted the stuck cork tiles and card from scrapbooking and lettering which I bought online. I stuck the cork to the frame with silicon. ( I suppose you could use ordinary glue but it needs lots) Or you could hammer in small tacks.
I also try to glue the pin backs to the pins to give it additional support . This is something disney do to their framed pin sets.

Hi, just wanted to tell you Nikki that I love your idea for the corkboards I have all ours in to big frames just stuck in the cardboard that came in the frame and it's pretty heavy think I'm going to see about separating them into catagorey's and put in smaller frames with cork this time. :)

Have you looked on the dizpins boards pin gallery

You need to connect the gaps to make it work

Thanks for that link! There are great ideas on that board, and inexpensive ones too. I think my boys and I will get started tomorrow on creating a framed display.

Thanks again!

I cant wait to see photos of your work

disneypins.com has a Mickey statue holding a cork board for pins and a statue wearing a lanyard for display that look pretty cool. I bought a corkboard at Wal-Mart that has a nice black frame (like a picture frame) for about $7 that looks great!

I bought a nice park map board at DLP last time I was there but my collection has outgrown it so i've since moved onto a plain ol corkboard, does the job but I need to be sure I keep the mickey backs safe!

pointandshoot your frames are awesome!!! Do you cut the mats too?? They are great!!!

Here are a few photos of how I display our keeper pins....

Wow,2angelsinheaven, those are amazing! I think I'll go for corkboards too - simple (and hopefully cheap) but very effective. Thank you for sharing!
