I KNOW I'm going to get KICKED for this:

BUT!:

Let's say a "friend" receives a PIN. They can't use it,

BUT:

You tell your "friend" that you can use the PIN. So your "friend" calls Disney and signs up for 2 rooms/package using the PIN. Then your "friend" calls a few days/weeks later and cancels their side of the reservation. Leaving you on......

hhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........

I've given friends my pin numbers before. My next door neighbor was going to Disney for the first time and was trying every which way to save some money. I had a pin code and I was going as well. They were going in May, we were going in July. I booked my trip, gave me code....I was all set. I then gave her my code, she called and booked a trip under HER name , no mention of me and said she had a pin code, it was applied and it WORKED. They checked in ...no probs. I checked in two months later....no prob.

I've done this a few times now. I actually booked this year with the free dining pin, and it was someone elses.

I've never had a problem doing this , I've been going for 17 years and REFUSE to go without a discount. I go for three weeks every year, so Disney gets plenty of my $$$, people may think I'm wrong, and thats fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And NO, I do not feel like I'm ripping off Disney, Three weeks of Room, tickets, food (prior to this year) and three weeks of just Spending, Disney makes Tons off of me.

I love going to Disney, wouldn't want to trade the trips for the world, but I refuse to pay full price for a room, that is pretty much a glorified hotel room. Don;t get me wrong, I love the theming, I've stayed at Mods, Deluxes and this year partial DVC, but the rooms are overpriced compared to what you could get at a Deluxe hotel elsewhere. I do realize you are paying for the "experience" but again, overpaying for it. Obviously, I love Disney or I wouldnt keep going. BUT, when the Discounts stop, so will I.

I think that if there were some rhyme or reason to the discounts (say you got a certain PIN code for going so many times, booking a certain level of resort or spending so much money,) then it might be wrong; but they send these things out willy nilly. Besides, anytime someone uses a PIN (no matter how they got it) who wouldn't have gone to WDW otherwise, then Disney ultimately benefits. They get a reservation that they wouldn't have gotten without the PIN and I am sure they still make some profit, even on discounted trips.

No flames here! I agree, it is NOT a cheap vacation and without a discount our trip would either be shorter or nonexistant. If I had a pin; my pin your pin,my neighbor's pin, I'm using it! :goodvibes

WOW. I always thought that the reservations had to be in the name of the offer. well, that is nice to know...........:woohoo:

I have no problem with it either....really who cares what other people do.

As far as actually getting to use someone elses PIN all you can do is try. I've booked with the AAA discount many times and have never once been asked for my card at check in. I do have one and have it ready to show them but they never ask.

I don't see how this is possible unless each time you got a CM that was willing to book outside of their "rules". I have gotten tons of pins mailed to me for my in laws, my sister, my parents and I have only been able to a PIN code once. And that code comes to MY ADDRESS! How is it possible that you can book with a neighbor's pin?:confused3 I think it is great that you get to do it, but I don't understand them not letting you use a PIN code that comes to your address in someone else's name but they can book people who don't have the right address or name?? You know I am going to call today and see if I can use my in-laws pin code for Free QSDining. I didn't even try because I don't like getting turned down!

You have inspired me!

On a few occasions I have given them the pin code and they tell me its not coming up for me. They ask me to hold to "check" other email accounts I have, etc. They come back on and I say, this is the pin I have, it helps if your neighbor or whoever tells you what the email or post card says EXACTLY. That way you can read it and say this is what I received and this is the pin attached. I SWEAR I have NEVER had a problem. For free dining, I didnt even have to give them the code. I said I received it by email but couldnt locate it. I remember hearing on the DIS that this pin code offer came with a link on the email to get right in to book it. I told them I thought it was "odd" that this time I could link right into making a reservation vs receiving a specific pin. The CM then said, yes, this one actually did have a link, where you could book right there. I told him I tried it, got some prices and was going to go back a few days later and I cant find my email. He just booked it. No questions asked.

I know, it sounds very deceiving, but again, Disney gets tons of my $$$ because we go for three weeks. Again, not trying to justify it, just giving my side.

So I say TRY TRY and TRY again. It has worked EVERY single time for me. And like I said, we've been going for 17 years. I have NEVER paid full price. Well , I'm paying full price for the room :headache: this year, which is KILLING me, but we are getting free dining, so for the amount of time we spend there, the full price/ free dining is MUCH less expensive then the 35 or 40% discount and paying for dining, either by out of pocket of adding the dining plan.

So I will suck it up, paying rack rate for the room, to get the free food for three weeks. Had to book two ressies , though, you cant book that many days on one ressie.
