My wonderful Dh bought me a couple of Disney pins for Christmas since I have become a bonified pin junky since our honeymoon in OCtober. But I think two of them may be counterfeit Disney pins and I don't know how to tell. The backs of them are dark metal and have the word "Disney" with the copyright letter "c" circled but the word Disney is in block letters, not in the tradiitional Disney font. It does say made in China, but so does my other real disney pins. Is it a fake?

First thing to do is check Pinpics.com. Do a search using some descriptive word and that will limit your view of the database. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking these could be Sedesma. If so, they are legit traders.

A lot of the bootleg and counterfeit can easily be spotted. The colors just aren't right, or even the characters. Example, Mickey will look more rat-ish.
But most pin people can think of some REALLY poor artwork Disney allowed past their proofing. (Cross eyed Tinkerbell's, etc)
And the dead give away is the same pin style in about 10 color variations.

NOW come along scrappers -- unauthorized leftovers from the manufacturer's Disney uses. They can't be told apart from legit.

If you cant find them upload a photo here and we will try to find them

I found them both!! Thank you. They are authentic! One was thumper and the other was Pluto.
