PIN Codes for Canadians?

Hey everyone! I am a new poster, but have been reading the boards for months...thanks for all of the fabulous information!

I am just wondering if any Canadians (specifically those in Manitoba) have received a PIN? The reason I ask about Manitoba specifically is because I am wondering if it is actually allowed? I tried to order a DVC information package, but because I am a resident of Manitoba, they are not allowed to send me one. I am wondering if it is the same case with the PINS?

I am in Ontario! I have received at least 5 PIN codes over the last year!

I have had multiple in the last two years and I am in Yellowknife. Using one for October...

I haven't got any yet but I just signed up a few weeks ago. Do you need to have a booked reservation to get one? I've ordered the DVD, saved some packages and talked to numerous CM's in chat when I have questions. We are going in September but I haven't booked yet.

The PIN codes are all random. Get this, my brother and sister-in-law, went with us to Disney 5 years ago and today in the mail, THEY GOT A FREE DINING PIN CODE! They never registered on the Disney Site, they never ordered the DVD, they've never contacted Disney in anyway since the trip.......

YET THEY GET A FREE DINING PIN CODE! On the other hand, if my DW and I wanted to use it we could, but we don't need it this year, we need the ROOM DISCOUNT PIN CODE!

I thought pincodes were not transferable though? How could you use it? I have no idea how all this works so if that's a dumb question please be nice

We booked the vacation under our name for my brother and sister-in-law so the CM said we could use the code if they ever received one, because it is linked to us.

There are strict rules for timeshare sales. In most cases, for Canadians, you can only buy when you are physically in Florida because they can't solicit sales in many Canadian provinces.

Sending you an info packet qualifies as soliciting... even if you request it.

Thanks CanadianGuy! I was thinking that maybe because they couldn't solicit the DVC that maybe they couldn't solicit a trip with PIN codes either! At least I know I have a chance!

We live in Manitoba, and my nephew has gotten a few pin codes, always to MY email (which ticks me off!!!). So yes, Manitobans do get codes once in a while!
