Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the 40% off deluxe room pin code everyone is getting. Does the code work if you have a dining plan with it? Particualarly the platinum magic your way package? I have a trip planned for early January for the GF garden view with platinum package for 7 nights and the buy 4, get 3 does not apply with the platinum package. If I got one of these amazing 40% off codes would the platinum package even apply? All the CM's tell me that no discount or rate code ever works with platinum. Also last year they offered a 25% off code for platinum packages. Any word on if they are going to release that again. This trip is really expensive and I am trying to save money anywhere I can. Thanks for all of your guys help!!!!

The 40% off would apply to your room pricing, not the "package". We got that pin and booked the other night for GF garden view as well, and saved $1300 off the room price. then we added deluxe dining and park hopper passes. but the discount was only off the room. But for that savings, we were just floored !! :dance3: We were hoping for free dining, but this was FANTASTIC !!

I understand its only for the room. But apparently, you cant even use a rate code at all if you are getting the premium or platinum package. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

From what I've seen, they always let you add the dining plan at full price.

Then why wouldn't they let you for the buy 4, get 3 free?

Maybe you can call again. They won't give you 3 days of free food since that wasn't the deal. Maybe that has something to do with it. Did you want to buy it for 7 days or get 3 days free? If you wanted to pay for the 7 days, I would call someone else.

Sounds like you had a confused CM. You can add the DDP to the buy 4 get 3, but you have to pay for all 7 days of the DDP.

Re: The Premium and Platinum plan, I am not sure if those are excluded, but I wouldn't see why they would be (as long as you are paying full price for that part)

yes, that's the only reason I would think they wouldn't sell something - someone confused or they didn't explain correctly (pay for 7, not 4 days of dining)!! It could have been that they wanted the 3 days free though. NOt sure. THat's what I asked.

If I'm not mistaken, the Platinum package is very expensive and, from my pov, has way too much in it to actually use, specially for just 7 nights.

If you are trying to save money you are probably better off doing the room only and either doing 4/3 or the 40%off. Then add what you are really going to use to it.

Are you using a travel agent? They can run the numbers for you.

Read what mousesavers has to say about the diff packages.:

The reality is, it's highly unlikely that you will take a tour in the morning, play tennis in the afternoon and attend a Cirque du Soleil show in the evening, on top of visiting the theme parks.

TO be honest, if it's getting that expensive I wouldn't even bother with that food plan. We had too much with regular dining.

Directly taken from mousesavers.com re the Buy 4, Get 3 free:

This offer cannot be applied to the Premium or Platinum packages or to "split stays" (for example, 4 nights at one hotel, 3 nights at another).

and on the wdwinfo website it doesnt give codes for premium or platinum packages.

I agree with everyone else that the Platinum plan might be too much stuff. Have you thought about doing the 4/3 deal with DxDDP (3 TS meals per day) and paying OOP for a couple of the Platinum extras (like La Nouba, the Spa etc)

Exactly. Because wdw figures that people who book premium or platinum don't care about getting discounts.
Have you considered downgrading from platinum so that you CAN use a discount? It seems a shame to be paying top dollar when disney is offering so many discounts.

The premium and platinum plans I look at as more of the exclusive packages. They look terrific and offer everything under the WDW sun. (Food, tours, golf, Cirque, turn down service, spa, child care, etc.)
But do not look for those as being part of a 7 for 4 package.
They are what they are. Not cheap. But it's the big kahuna all in one package.
