Pin Code - very ironic

Okay, this is weird. We have been passholders for many years now and have NEVER received a PIN code or any sort of promotional code at all. We decided not to renew our passes this year. Our current passes expired yesterday. So today, I get an email from, guess who? You got it! Disney! And I got a PIN code! A little ironic, huh?:confused3

Anyway, not sure how these PIN codes work. It says 40% off a stay at select value resorts and then lists a bunch of different time periods between now and the end of the year. What if I wanted to stay at a mod or deluxe, does the same discount apply? How good is the discount really? I am a FL resident. Is it better to use FL resident discount or the PIN code? I don't know what to do. Anybody use these PIN codes before?

The 40% pin code is about as good as it gets for a room only reservation. The buy 4 get 3 free deal works out to about 43% off plus a small savings on tickets plus a $200 gift card (if you travel before the end of March). So that is really the best deal right now (if you need tickets too), but the pin codes are a coveted and sought after discount. :)

From reading other threads, it seems the code is working at all levels of resorts, not just Values.

It's unclear whether an AP is needed at check-in. I have a Passholders 40%-off flyer and nowhere is the AP actually mentioned except that the flyer says "Passholders save..." I haven't tried booking, so I'm not 100% sure of the details.

If some of the listed dates fit an upcoming trip for you, give them a call and see what the deal is. You may or may not need the AP at check-in.

Please post back and let us know what happened. And if you get an uncooperative or unknowledgeable CM on the phone, call back and get a better one!

We used a 40% off PIN code last year to book AKL for ourselves, and Pop Century for my husband' parents and sister/brother-in-law/baby.

When we called to make the reservations, the CM gave us quotes for available resorts of all levels, and we were able to book all three rooms using the discount. Each room was under different names with different reservation numbers so we could all be in charge of any changes needed to our own rooms. The deposit required at booking was the amount of one night's stay for each reservation.

Note: We do not have APs - we received the PIN code in the mail.

:)

I've gotten quotes for everthing from CBR preferred to WL club level to BC standard to CR garden wing to Poly club level with the PIN. Availability is pretty good right now, it seems. Now if only the other people we're travelling with would make up their minds about where they want to stay, I could go ahead and book!

Boy are you lucky! DH & I have been AP holders, but decided not to renew in September (I got laid off). We're Florida Resident's too and have NEVER gotten a pin code! Guess I'd better keep my fingers crossed......hope for a pin code in the future! Most of the time last year when I booked our rooms the AP Rate & the Florida Res. rate was about the same so it didn't matter which I chose. :cutie:

I was quoted out a price at all levels of resorts today--Poly, Contemporary,POR, and all values except Pop. It seemed they had pretty good availability at all levels. Also, after I booked Poly for three nights, I was able to make ADRs for Chef Mickeys, Ohana, Le cellier and CP--all at about the times I wanted...
So it does sound as though they are really looking to fill rooms...normal nightly price for my room was $485/night---I am paying $291/night.
