For those of you that already have your reservations for the September event, where are you staying? Did you go ahead and do a package deal to get your park hoppers, or are you waiting to get event information to do that? My mom and I are trying to figure out where to stay, whether to do a package deal that's available now, or what.

Ashley

Ashley,
I'm staying at Port Orleans -Riverside. Since I'm an AP, I got the AP rate and don't have to worry about buying Parkhoppers. I've heard others are staying at All Stars and some have a condo off property. Don't know if they are going to have a pin event package deal. Does anyone know if they did that last year?

We only have our Airfare so far...

We are staying at the All Stars Movies. Already have our airfare too. We never do a package. Also AP holder so no need for park tickets.

I haven't decided if I'm going yet, but it looks like there is plenty of hotel availability, so I wouldn't worry about that. The Swan and Dolphin seems like a nice choice because it's right at Epcot where the event is, but the rates are kind of high. They are better if you are a nurse or teacher, so if anyone who is a nurse or teacher wants to split a two bedroom or suite or something with me, let me know. It might help me make up my mind about going! I'm still not that wild about the idea of staying by myself...I'd like to know that there will be someone there to get lost on the buses with, etc. But as a mom of three who never gets any privacy, I do want my own sleeping space...lol!!

We have ressie at boardwalk in a studio and got our air ticket already also Ready to go.

We have our room, a studio at Old Key West (couldn't get a studio at the Boardwalk or BCV and didn't want to waste points on a 1 BR when we wouldn't be in the room much), and we bought APs when we were there over Memorial Day, since we knew we'd be coming back, but I'm afraid to buy plane tickets until the schedule comes out and I know what time the events will be on Sunday the 22nd. Does anyone who has been to prior pin events have any thoughts on how late the event might run on Sunday?

Sharon, you're welcome to hang out with my daughter and me.

Specials for rooms are already available. Last week's Washington Post ran an ad for $49 a night at the All Stars. Proof of residency for Wash. DC, Maryland & Virginia required. If you need the code, PM or email me and I'll let you know. Good from late August until beginning of Oct.

Regarding leaving on the last day. I say NEVER again. We went to the August pin event and had to be at the airport for an 8:00 PM flight. Oh my, what an extremely stressful situation that was. With the RSPs coming out at 4:00, we sat in line starting at 2:00 so that we could be first in the check out line. Never, never again. There was no time for trading afterwards. This time we are there from Thurs. to Tues.

But I guess it depends how they do the RSP each day. Last year was a learning experience, and sounds like they are still working the bugs out.

Got a room.... Now to get tickets and passes... Oh and ask for the time off...

We haven't gotten our room yet but I'm sure we will be staying in our home away from home, the Swan/Dolphin. (Hear that Donna? You can come visit your fish again!)

Just got an e-mail from Disney... Rooms at moderate resorts (i.e. Port Orleans) are $89 + tax if you mention code CQX.

We'll be at the Marriott Sabal Palms Vacation Club through the event weekend.

Then back home :D to OKW for the following week.
