I will taking my own pillows (2). Can I take them as a carryon or do I have to pack them? Will they count as one my carryons? Does anyone else bring their own pillows?

That's one of your two carryons....

Are you bringing them to use on the plane or in the hotel? On the plane, I'd suggest investing about $10 in one of those u-shaped neck pillows (I got mine at Walgreens) and 'wearing' it onto the plane - I don't think they count it as anything that way.
If you're bringing your pillows to use in your hotel room, get one or two of those space-bag things; put the pillows in them and squeeze/vacuum out all the air, then pack them in your suitcase.

I would think 2 pillows would be two carry-ons unless you cram both into one small duffle. Why not get a duffle throw them into it and check it. Why do you need 2 bed pillows on the plane?

Ok if pillows count as carry on's what about my DD stuffed animal. It's kind of big.

I will need my own pillows in the Hotel. I'm funny that way. I cannot sleep except w/ my own pillows. I think I will put them in a bag w/ all the air squished out. Thanks for all the advice.

If it's not bigger than a briefcase it's her "personal item" -- if it is bigger then it is her primary carry on. Either way, it counts unto itself unless she can put it inside her carryon bag.
