I've just done a 25 mins Pilates workout and I just can't get the hang of this exhaling and zipping up and tucking in - Pelvic floor stuff - I have to keep reminding myself to stay zipped up - Does it get easier?
Also is it supposed to be so easy - I am quite flexi anyway - I can still get my nose down to my knees when doing hamstring stretches, but I don't feel worked out??

I don't know about the zippered thing! The instructor in my tape emphasizes keeping your belly button pulled in to your back. She really emphasizes keeping your legs within the frame of your body, using your "powerhouse" (abs, I suppose) to support you and do the work through the different positions, and breathing properly through the nose.

It's not a challenge like doing set after set of crunches or running a mile, but I can really feel my abs/stomach doing the work, especially while I am on my back with my legs at a 45 degree angle!!! D'OH!!!

Hi elisebutt - I know the first couple of times you have to keep reminding yourself to keep zipped and to breath but it gets easier to remember pretty quick. Your hamstrings will get looser too. I love the stretching and the fact I'm not jumping around. For me it's a nice compliment to walking/cycling or lifting which does work up a sweat. Even if I don't see a physical difference, (I haven't been doing it long enough) I like the feeling of getting loosened up.

I would have never heard of it if I hadn't been coming to this board, I am so thankful WISH!

I still haven't ordered those tapes. I wonder if my gym has a class in this? I'll have to check it out.

Alice, I've learned a lot from WISH too, I love it here :)
