We went to Pier One and found a cute budget find.
For those who do baskets for Christmas or other holidays, they had wooden crates for 10 dollars a piece. They are blond wood color with fruit painted on one side. They are deep enough and large enough to put a variety of items in. They are also sturdy.
My mom got two and is using them for Christmas 2011 for my sister in laws. We are going to do a kitchen basket with pot holders, towels, salt & pepper shakers, can opener, and other small kitchen gear. I hope to hit some Kohls sales and fill these budget finds with other budget finds.
I thought for those who do baskets, these are a good and affordable alternative.
