Pictures while eating

Does anyone else feel weird taking pictures of their food at Disney? I always wanted to catalog my awesome food experiences down there, but I've felt a bit awkward doing it in the restaurants, especially the fancier ones.

Am I alone here, or should I just get over it and put together the most delicious-looking trip report ever? Haha.

Snap away - I always do. Especially of the desserts. We have had pictures taken by waiters and everyone else you can imagine. I think the only place photography should be regulated is on rides -NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY PLEASE

I say go for it! I never felt weird taking pictures in any of the restaurants (even the Signatures). The only time I didn't take a picture was when we were sharing a table at La Cantina de San Angel with some people we'd never met - I did feel a little funny photographing some tortilla chips then!

I don't care what anyone thinks as long as I am not on a ride or in an attraction I take pictures of everything. Yes, I even have pictures of the lamp posts on Main Street.

I love my food pictures and the only ones that seem bothered by it are my family when they know that have to wait to eat until I take a picture of everyone's dishes and make sure they look good. The most often phrase heard on our vacation is "Can I eat this yet?"

Thanks for the input! I'm leaving for Disney tonight, and I'm going to snap away! DF is camera-obsessed, though, so I will certainly have to worry about the food getting cold before he's done taking the pictures!

I feel the same way but I enjoy seeing pictures when I read a report or review. I am going to try and get over myself and take lots of pictures on our April trip. It's vacation and I can take pictures of food if I want to!

I also love to take pictures of the food at the meals. The only thing that I try to be aware of is using the flash. I try to avoid it in places where the lighting is already low, because that is the ambiance that the restaurant is going for and it seems very disruptive when the flash goes off (even to me, behind the camera).

I love taking pictures of our awesome meals, and desserts.....I say snap away! It is a good way to remember some of the nice, fun, or romantic moments we have enjoyed!

I felt weird at first but like others have said, lots of people do it! In fact, I've made a vow to take more on my next trip! When we were at Via Napoli (our first dinner ever at Disney), we were seated at one of the long tables and the woman diagonal from us was taking pictures of her food too!

I love reading the foodie reports with the pictures. I wanted to take pics earlier this month when dh and I did deluxe, but I couldn't make myself do it. It interrupts me. LOL
I don't really care what people think, but I felt like it was a hassle to stop and snap pictures before my meals. I just wanted to focus on my time with dh and eating the yummo food.
BUT, like I said, I really love the people who do takes pics so I can see them on here. I wouldn't think anything of it in a restaurant, if I saw someone snapping pics of their plate, even in the fancier places.

Like others say ... snap away! I don't feel funny at all. I thought my DH would be weirded out ... but NO, he acts like a director and sets up the shot!!! Moves his plate closer to the bread and stuff. HA HA. He puts up with all my DISney mania! I don't think it is that obtrusive and it takes just a moment to snap a shot. No one has ever said anything to me and if they did ... well I'd just say I love to remember what we ate!

We were @ Narcooses last summer and someone was taking pictures of the food from different angles. I wondered if it was a disser. I plan on taking a ton of food pictures this summer and posting some great food porn!!

I snap away at every meal at WDW! Ok, I do try to be a little more discreet with the flash as some posters mentioned. If I must use a flash I will try to get that best photo in one shot. I have a WDW food review website so I am ALWAYS taking pictures of our food.

We snap pictures of EVERYTHING! Before our trip last year my husband got a new camera so it was inevitable. Aside from taking pics of the food to do a dining report, I have really used those pics this year to remind me what we ate and how much we enjoyed (or didn't) the place. And I LOVE looking at everyone elses food porn too!!!

DD8 is now also well trained...DO NOT EAT TIL WE TAKE A PICTURE!! If we forget she will promptly remind us.

I also take pictures of everything. This trip I my DS will also be armed with camera so between the three of us we should get some good shots. I always say that you need to have the camera ready, you never know in Disney when a Magical Moment will happen that needs to be preserved even if it is only a meal.

I, too, take pictures at every meal, and DH and DS are well-trained in terms of not touching their plates until the photos are taken.

I do take into account the surroundings -- in a more upscale, darker atmosphere (Jiko, for example) I do NOT use a flash. I feel that as long as you use good judgment and aren't imposing on other diners' rights to have a lovely meal, then there's nothing wrong with taking photos. And I agree with those who've said that it's another fun way to remember the trip!
