Pictures/Videotaping on rides

We just bought a new camcorder, and it has a built-in spotlight. Honestly I don't think I'll get much use out of the light at the parks, because I hate the idea of blinding anyone, but it did raise the question if there actually were any rides/attractions where flash photography or lighted taping were allowed? I'd be pretty surprised if there were, other than maybe a couple of shows.

Also, does anyone have a link to a list of rides where non-flash/lighted photography is allowed, and where it is prohibited outright? Thanks a lot!

ALL attractions and Parades prohibit video LIGHTS,
although virtually all DO ALLOW non-lighted video recording.
A notable EXCEPTION is "Soarin'".
"American Adventure" is a "no video or photography" attraction as is (I think) "Hall of Presidents".
The 3D movies generally don't encourage video recording, but the images would look AWFUL anyway.

Flash photos are allowed (but not encouraged) in "its a small world", but video LIGHTS are really unwelcome there or ANYWHERE.

So, video LIGHTS and FLASH photos are almost always forbidden, but videotaping IS generally allowed.

You'll definitely get a lot of good use out of your camcorder, but I wouldn't turn the light on inside any attractions. It will be great for shooting around the parks in the dark though. I hope we'll get to see some cool videos when you get back!

I had videotaped It's a Small World in Dec. '03 since a relative couldn't come due to illness. I didn't use the spotlight. Spotlights and flashes bring out all of the "hidden things" such as cables and such ruining the effect on the picture and the ride. If you can video without the light I don't see why there would be a problem. I guess you could always ask the CM at the beginning of the ride. That's what I did on IASM and the CM even put me on the front of the boat so no one's head got in the way.

Built in lights on camcordes usually dont help much anyways, so might as well leave it off.
