You can actually convert photographs into ASCII text using this, if you have a bit of skill with editing pictures down to 60x50 pixels:

Wow. I just had flashbacks to when we went to the Wisconsin State Fair
when I was a kid. There was a vendor who made ASCII photo conversions
like that. My parents had one made of me and my older sister.

Memories...

When I was about 5 years old, my dad and I had our photo made in ASCII text and it is now framed above my fireplace. I will try to add a scan of it. It is so cool now that I am older, but at the time I was very upset because like any 5yo I wanted to play the games instead.

I did a tiny bit of web surfing trying to find a program that could handle larger images and output, but most things are shareware or require registration (or WORSE YET, use... windoze... )

If anyone finds any other public domain tools that can do this, I'd much appreciate hearing about it.

My hair was pulled back in a ponytail so my hair looks like Moe of the 3 stooges. This was hi tech when it was made.

How do you resize it?

use any paint or photo program. (i used paint shop pro) and resize it to 60widex50high.
