We are considering renting at the Boardwalk Villas

Does anyone know where there is a link to pictures of the boardwalk villa rooms. I have already been to the Deb Wills site and unfortunately they do not have all the room types.

I am trying to decide between the room types.

We have 10 people in total, 5 adults and five kids

We can get a Grand Villa with 3 bedrooms (although I don't see any pictures of bedroom two or three which supposedly have two queens each in them)

OR we can do a one or two bedroom villa. I am really confused on what bed arrangements are in these two types of villas.

The only problem is we have have one family with two adults and three kids and one family with two adults and two kids. We also have a grandmother that could stay with either family.

SO we can split up 5 & 5 or 6 & 4.

Anyone have any suggestions for any of the rooms at Boardwalk villas. We have chosen Boardwalk because it is slightly cheaper than beach club villas but if you think that resort would be better please let us know. Thanks for any information about actual bed accomodations in the rooms .

Thanks for any advice

this is from a disney site

no pictures - although there are some on the site.

BVW and BCV for the preferred views are the same point wise - are you renting from a DVC member or CRO - I would recommend a DVC member (much cheaper)

I would get a 2-bedroom for you - put the one family in a 1-bedroom and give your grandmother her own studio - but that is me - my family goes not get along well even at the best places -

the GV has a king bed in the master, 2 queen beds in both the bedrooms, and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom - it can be on 2 levels or just 1 - there are only 5 (6?) of these things so the odds on you getting one is very limited.

the BCV does not have GV.

the only other DVC resort with a GV is OKW - you stand a much better change here.

Hi There,
I think it depends on the kids ages.

Here are the room sizes

You can see layouts at http://dvc.disney.go.com/disneyvaca...ionsindex?id=BoardwalkVillasAccommodationsGrp

Studio - sleeps 4 ( 2 on bed and 2 on pull out bed)

1 bedroom - Sleeps 4 (2 in master bed room) and 2 on pullout (which is in living room)

2 bedroom ( 1bedroom +studio) - Sleeps 8
2 in master bed room
2 on pullout (which is in living room) and
4 in the second bedroom ( 2 on bed and 2 on pull out bed)

Grand Villa ( Usually Hard to get) - sleeps 12
it has:
one bedroom - sleeps 2 ppl
one bedroom - sleeps 4 ppl
one bedroom - sleeps 4 ppl
pull out in living room - sleeps 2 ppl

Thank you both for responding. That was some very helpful information. I'm glad I know the grand villas are harder to get.

I was curious about the Studio with a Daybed option. Has anyone ever stayed in a room. We have a four year old girl and I was wondering if they daybed is real small. Also, what is the likelyhood of getting a studio with a daybed? Can it be guaranteed? I would like to rent instead of booking a reservation, does that give me less chance of getting a daybed unit? Are rooms already assigned before you get there or is it just like a hotel that they decide on the day you arrive?

Thanks again for any information.

yes - the studio with a daybed - is called a studio plus - there are very few of them - and I think they are still guaranteed - the DVC member who makes your reservation can check on it and be sure.

they would have to ask for a studio plus.

BWV has standard views - which are cheaper than preferred views - but no Grand Villa has a standard view

standard views are very, very hard to get - they generally go fast....

DVC resorts are generally assigned before time - but lately they have moved over to - first come - if you arrive early and your assigned room is not ready - you should be offer a room that is - if you take this one some of your request would not be meet (like a studio plus room). but since you would need a bunch of rooms together or close - then I don't think you should even try for the first come situation.

all DVC resorts check in time is 4:00pm - not the 3:00pm for the hotels.

some members take one of those air beds for their children - the day bed is small and she might fall off. just depends upon how much she moves when she is asleep.

I am not even sure that studio plus is availability through CRO - I am really surprised that the GV is - generally GV are taken up by members.

Since you can split up 6 and 4, you could get by with a two bedroom (for the 6) and a studio for the 4. If the studio would be too cramped with grandma or the other adults, you could get a one-bedroom instead of the studio. The studios do come with a sofa that makes out into a double bed, so the 4 year old could sleep there with a sibling, I suppose.

Actually, you used to be able to request the Studio Plus, but they don't guarantee it any more. The "daybed" is not much more than a luggage rack with sides. My son hated it and would not sleep on it. He slept with either Dad or me in the queen bed or sleeper.

I'd also go with the 6 in a 2 bedroom and the 4 in either a one bedroom or studio. If any of your kids are under the age of 3, you can include one in the room without adding to the occupancy. There are pack 'n' plays in each unit for the babies.

When did you plan on going? Members can reserve at their home resort 11 months out and at another DVC resort 7 months out. Holidays or special times need to be reserved at the 11 month period. Standard views at the BW need to be reserved at the 11 month period no matter what time you want.
