I've seen that DCL has "Shutter's Photography".
What services do they offer?
How many pictures does DCL take of you?
How many packages do they have to offer?
When do you purchase them?
Do they also have any photo developing service?
THANKS

Shutters on the 7 night Magic offered
A 10 pictures 6 by 8 for around $84. There were additional packages.
I know that it was the shutters people doing the formal pictures and the pictures with the Charactors.
We had 8 by 10's (19.95 each) of our formal nights.
There was the pre boarding picture, 1 picture up on deck, charactor breakfast pictures, and any picture with the charactors around the ship.
They do offer film developing, not sure how much.
I purchased a 10 picture package, and every time I bought another picture, they crossed one off my card.
They do a very nice job with the pictures.

From what I saw, they'll take as many pictures as you'll let them! They took pictures in the dining rooms, at Castaway Cay, with all the characters - and I was just on a 3 night! And you want to buy them all!:p

We stacked all our pictures together (a hint from The Passporter people) as they were developed and looked at all of them on the last afternoon on board. That way we got to look at all the pictures and decide which ones we liked.

The package that was mentioned before was for 6x8 only and those are only head shops not the formal or character pictures.

As for developing pictures on board I seem to recall they were $6.99 for 24 pcitures but I may be wrong.

We ended up with several surprise pictures of our DS's. Most of them were around the pool area and a couple of them had Mickey with them. The formal's are 8x10 only and are expensive but they are worth it. Very professional.

Auntie Bon - Hi Bonnie!!!! Yes, we can always get a good tip from Jennifer and Dave's Passporter!!! That book is the DCL "bible" at my house!

I had all my film developed there - you get a free picture of the ship with every development. I had my photo album ready before we even got off the ship! Don't ask how many rolls!!!

How did you 2 get away with stacking yours together? We tried that and one of the persons working there saw me do it and said "NO-one is supossed to be doing that!" I said I didn't want to decide on which ones until the last day and she said "Well that's a good way to get them all lost?????" I'm not sure if she said it because we had soooooo many pictures we were saving, but I noticed other people doing it too.

Just a correction on something mentioned before: The 6x8 pictures are all the casual character pictures and extras taken all over the ship (deck parties, swimming at the pool etc.) The only ones that are 8x10 are the ones you pose for that have a backround behind it (Canvas).

I hope this helps,

Hey there! How are you, savs?!!!! Nice to see you posting here!

I don't know how we "got away with it" - but I did it on the other cruises also and no one said a word. Some people actually put the pictures down on the floor and took a "picture of a picture" - now that was something that should have been addressed, but certainly NOT what you and the rest of us did!!!! SHEESH!!!!

Did you get the ones you wanted?

We always get the embarkation one - and often two or three others. I do use their film processing and find that to be a big saver when it comes to "mine or their" shot decisions!!!

Hey Auntie Bon, Savs, & Rae519!

Looks like us May 3rd cruisers are having our first unofficial reunion in the "Picture Packages" thread!

Nice to hear from everyone again!

And, just to stay on topic, Travis and I missed out on a couple of pictures that were taken during the cruise. Northernmouse made mention of several that we had evidently missed and now I wish I had been more careful while I perused the photos!

Oh well, there's always the next cruise! Western, here we come!

We're just back from May 8th Wonder and I followed the passporter and grouped my photos after the first night. However, by the last night 2/3 were missing. I was so upset and spent alot of time searching all over. My advice would be to dump the ones you really don't want ASAP ensuring more space for the ones you want to keep. After some prayers, we managed to find them and as it turned out they were the best ones of the whole cruise. I wish they had a better system -like litttle mail slots with your romm # or such to keep better track of them.

How about taking a file folder or 6x10 photo mailer, writing your name on it and storing all your photos in there until the end of the cruise?

Do you think that would be allowed?

Also, I'm taking a digital camera, can Shutters make photos from compact flash cards?

Memaw2Wm - what a great idea! I am sure that ifyou asked the photo shop staff, they MIGHT let you. They seemed pretty accomodating!

Yes, mmmom, they do need a better system.

I don't know if they can make photos from compact flash cards.

Jason and Travis - it's always hard to find pictures with the system they are using, plus at times there are soooo many people around! I have a nice one of you and Gloria sitting on the couch in the Walt Disney Suite.
If you PM me with your address, I'll mail it out.

Hey, are you thinking of April 2005, the Barnards are tentatively scheduled with me and Andy along with some other folks - would love to have you along again! Please consider it!!!

That's ditto to all the 5/3'er's!

Rae

I bought mine as I found them. I was just afraid they would disappear. I LOVE our formal shots!

I scrapbook, so I usually have my camera with me unless I'm in the pool. I found that many of the CM's invited me to take the same shots they were taking with my own camera. I managed to save some money by not buying those shots, as I already had them in my camera.

I almost missed Goofy on deck one day (he started to walk away and it turned out to be my favorite charactor picture luckily I had it with my camera but I wanted to see the Shutters one too) but anyway enough of that story, that was the one picture I couldn't find in Shutters. Actually both of my Goofy pictures. They were having a hard time getting all the pictures up by Wednesday and they did start pulling them down early. So I bought as I went along except for the charactor breakfast, and I'm now wishing I would have just bought them. But I did try to keep them together as much as possible which did help. When they got put into the boxes, they did get real messed up. I agree they need to find a better system.

It took me over an hour to find our Triton pic! But they do a GREAT job and even got DS 2 times candid one coming down the mickey slide (of course I had to buy it :) ) they most defintly need a better system some days it took forever to find the day earlyer shots, but the CMs were more than happy to help find them (and quite good at it I can say :smooth: )
