One of my favorite pictures of youngest DGD. Her Pappy had to stay behind during the beginning of our trip in 2009 (Hurricane Ike in Houston area delayed his departure); he'd called while we were waiting for our Tusker House reservation. She insisted on talking to him..."Pappy WHEN are YOU coming?"...

First of 4, well actually 3 since she withdrew from the solo recital because of knee trouble, recitals this weekend. Today was "Studio Day" with only 1 performance in what she called her "Shriek costume" . Professional photographer didn't allow photos during actual recital but did manage to get one afterwards. The most amazing numbers today included 2 with a little 5 year using her walker. Brought this "Mimi heart" to tears watching her onstage as she maneuvered it during her numbers never missing a beat. Tomorrow is "Company Day"; her one request...no flowers....she wants Mimi's Southern Banana Pudding instead ...
