Erich Wiess; he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the summer draft in 2013. He's currently with the minor league Altoona, Curve in PA and was fortunate enough last year to play a few games with the Pirates for an injured player. Not wishing injuries on any of the players but hoping he gets that chance again this season. MY sports are football and/or soccer but coming from an extended family that "lives and breathes" baseball I do keep up with Erich. Pretty proud of him; he's living his dream!
Sleeping Beauty Castle - Disneyland November 8, 2015
Disneyland without a doubt has the “best” Castle of any of the parks. It may not be the biggest, tallest or newest, but it’s the first. It’s the one that started it all, it’s the one Walt himself helped design and the one that he got to enjoy. He walked through the very same archway you do today. When you snap a picture of yourself in front of it it’s the same one Walt Disney was photographed with so many times. It’s the one in the famous photograph of Walt walking through it alone. It’s in the background in the last picture taken of Walt at the park shortly before his death.
Just imagine the millions, maybe billions of photos that have been taken of it. I don’t think I’ve ever not taken at least one shot of it when I’ve visited. True I’ve never visited any of the other Disney Castles, and yes they all look amazing. But I still think I would feel the same way, that our small, oldest, original one is the best.
