Picture HELP

Hello,

Back in July, during our trip to the World, my 5 MP digital camera ran out of battery half-way through ''whises'', so I had to rely on my camcorder's low 1.3 MP picture quality. The pictures came out kind-of gainy and small. They looked terrible when I printed them at walmart. I want to remove the grain and make the look good when enlarged. I wish I could do something to fix them...PLEASE HELP. Any opinions would help. The progams I have are: Photoshop and MGI PhotoSuite. PLEASE HELP!

You can try using the filters in Photoshop to remove some of the noise (grain) and sharpen the images.

Well - At 1.3 megapixels, you should have been able to just get an OK 4x6 print if the picture were saved at a lower compression level. It appears that even though this is 1.3 megapixels, the compression is pretty high on them, increasing your fuzziness by a great deal. I don't know that there's much you can do to 'fix' them. My suggestions:

1) If you're doing this for a scrapbook or memory book, you could see if you could find some good pictures of the show that someone else took. Of course, they are not 'yours', but it'll still look nice.

3) Bring along another charged battery. (Ok, that's obvious - sorry.) I always bring along two with a spare charger. At night when we get back to the hotel room the two batteries get charged for the camera, and two for the camcorder. It's worked pretty well for me and I don't remember running out of juice...
