I visited no less than SIX stores yesterday trying to find the "perfect" frame for the picture I intend to take with us on our next trip to be put up in Community Hall.

None of them really jumped out at me, but I did find one I kinda liked.

My question for those of you that have already turned in a picture... Did any of you have a frame that "didn't" have a hanger on the back of it, and were the CMs able to accept it, or do you think it's necessary that it have one?

Most of the frames I saw that I sorta liked were "desk" frames, and had no loop on the back to allow it to be hung.

I have no experience in framing anything. Is that an easy thing to fix, or should I try to find one with a hanger?

Thanks for your input!

I'm, not handy w/ that stuff either. I'm sure if you go to Wallmart (or K-Mart in my case) they will have boxes of those "little clippes" that you hammer into frames. Its very easy, I've done it many times now. It will come w/ "teeth", loops and the nails. Good Luck! Better safe than sorry

They use double sided tape to hang your picture frame to the wall so whatever hanger you have doesn't matter. Our frame had one of those table stand things on the back and I had to take it off so they could tape it flat to the wall....spruce

Thanks very much for your replies.

So, Spruce, would you recommend I purchase a frame that's not too terribly heavy? I was looking at one that had sea shells around the border -- to kinda go with the OKW theme.

Do DVC OKW members only get to put their pictures on the wall or any DVC family that stays at OKW?

We are going in July for the first time as DVC members but our home is HH. Not sure if we should get our picture ready or not.

Thanks

NJDVCmember.

It's my understanding that the pictures hanging in Olivia's, and now Community Hall, are for OKW members, only.

I "think" I recall a photo album in the beach house at HH that has HH members in it, but I'm not sure. I know I saw one at Vero when we first visited in 1997, in the lobby.

I had purchased a Mickey Mouse table frame. I had removed the flap that makes the frame stand-up. I also bought several different types of hangers to install on it. I had hooked up a flat piece with something like a triangle to go on either side of the photo. My boss at the hospital got the best heavy duty surgical thread and hooked it up for me. All in all I think they removed it and installed their own. I was told back in September that the sticky stuff on the photos at Olivia's is not holding as good and as long as they would like and they were going to use something else from now on. When you give them your photo ask them when they will put up your photo. Make sure you come back at the specified date and if it is not up tell them it is a surprise for someone and you don't have much time. For me I was not fibbing that I had a surprise for someone. Three times they gave us a date and they were wrong. In the long run don't worry about the back. They will take care of it for you. The shell frame sounds great. Buy it. I have seen shells and other heavy frames used. Let us know where it is when you come back. By the way when are you going?

Wow, DisneyOKW -- thanks for all your info!

We're going the last week of April, and I can't wait! Living so close, we normally go over for 1-2 nights at a time.

The longest we've EVER stayed has been for 4 nights. This trip will be for 5 nights! I just made our first PS (so-to-speak) yesterday -- for my husband to try the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon! I can't wait.

I'll be sure to post a picture of our "picture," as well as a picture of my surfer when we get back!
