I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, but I'm hoping some smart dissers can help me out! I am planning a romantic sunset dinner on the beach for my husband and I'd love suggestions on what to take. We'll eat either on a blanket or sitting in our beach chairs, so I don't want to do anything like steak that would require a lot of cutting, etc. I will have a cooler, so keeping things cold won't be a problem. Any ideas??:goodvibes

Since you need to keep things cool, go for seafood like shrimp, veggies with dip, steak salad, crab salad, cheese and crackers, sausage, etc...

You can never go wrong with a baugette, grapes, a great cheese and a bottle of wine. If you want something a bit more how about a green salad?

You don't want to feel like you ate a bowling ball on a romantic night! :cool1:

what about flat bread or rolled tortilla sandwiches. You can add about anything to them. They have always been a hit whenever we have a party and they can be made ahead.

I really like those cheesecake bites they have.

We make Tortilla snacks, with ham and ranch dressing and sour cream mixed together so good

great ideas - keep em comin'!!

happygirl - do you have a favorite cheesecake bite recipe or special brand that you buy from the store?

My first thought was tuna salad on crackers, cheese and fruit(cherries and strawberries are very sexy.)

Barefoot Contessa did a show on this a while back. I remember being very impressed, but of course now I cant remember what she made. Maybe a Google seach for that show might help.

Sliced fresh mango is good for a summer picnic, and you don't even need forks, as the pieces can be eaten with toothpicks.
