I've looked at the Marrakesh menu and there is nothing on the children's or adult's menu that my 5 year old son will touch. The rest of the family wants to go there and I'm inclined to do so. But, so he doesn't have to starve I'm thinking that maybe I would pick up something takeout for him and take it in. Has anybody ever done this at Marrakesh or any other WDW sit down restaurant? If not, has anybody ever been accomodated with alternate meals to what is shown on the menu.

Worst case scenario - I might feed him before dinner or tell him to either eat what he gets or he doesn't get to eat (he'll choose not to eat)at Marrakesh, but I'd prefer to eat together as a family and have everybody be happy.

If your 5yo will eat a hamburger and french fries, then you're in luck, because they have that on the children's menu. We ate there last month for dinner and my son was just not in the mood to be adventurous that night, so that's what he had. I just pulled out the children's menu that we saved and it's on there listed as 'Kefta'. They also have grilled chicken and french fries, and 'Moroccan Pasta', which sounds a lot like spaghetti and meatballs.

I think you'll all still be able to eat as a family. Enjoy!

Yes, we've found that ALL of the sit down restaurants are great about having those kid-friendly staples that southernwingz described.

I'm sure that they'll be able to find something simple enough to suit your 5 yo!

(I think my DS ate NOTHING except PBJ sandwiches the entire year he was 5. )

He won't eat the hamburger, won't eat grilled chicken and probably won't eat the pasta.

He might eat the french fries though!!

Thanks everybody.

We ate there when DS#1 was 3. He was (& at 6 still is) a terribly fussy eater. Grilled Cheese or Chicken Nuggets are the only things he'll eat. We stopped at the American pavilion right before we went to Morroco and grabbed him a meal to-go. The restaurant was very understanding and had NO problems with us bringing food in from elsewhere. He was happy eating his "American" food and was able to enjoy dessert (vanilla ice cream) from Morroco :)

We constantly have to make concessions for his eating habits by bringing other food to restaurants. What we do to compensate is to tip the servers as if our son has ordered from their menu. Makes me feel a bit less rude and imposing :)

Happy eating!
