Picky eater at Blue Bayou

Hi all!

My family and I are making a trip to DL this summer. My son, who will be 12 at the time, is a very picky eater. We've been to DL MANY times, but since moving to Washington 4 years ago, we have not been at all. On previous trips my Son was still considered a "child" so if we ordered off the child's menu and he didn't eat much we weren't too terribly bothered. We'd like to make a lunch stop at Blue Bayou, but there's nothing on the menu my Son will eat. There are 4 other people in our party though who will be ordering, 2 adults and 2 children.

Will they allow us to just not order anything for him?

Thoughts and tips appreciated.

Thank you!

Will he eat dessert? If so, just order him a dessert. If he's fine not eating you can go that route too.

As long as it's not a package with show seating attached they shouldn't care. Would he eat sides? You could always ask to split an adult entree. For $12 they'll add the bread service, soup or salad and extra sides. You could just have them not split the entree but get the extra sides for him.

You will be allowed to order for him off the child's menu, but you may be asked to pay extra. (This depends on the CM. Some people report being charged for an adult meal and some people don't get charged.)

We were charged double the kids price for double the portion a couple years ago. It was a waste too since she didn't eat all of it.

You can try ordering a child's portion, and if they will charge full price, I agree with trying SMD's recommendation on splitting a plate.

we came back a week ago, my 11 year old ordered off the kid's menu and we didn't get charged extra.. I guess we were lucky .

We order for our older kids off the kids menu and never have had a problem. (Now 11 and 13) just so it is not for a PtN package--then you pay adult $$. Otherwise they didn't care.)
