Thanks to Chesire Figment :goodvibes I know I can pick up the tickets for our package 3 days prior to our package starting. Being that the price of air is so out of control this year, it is cheaper for us to arrive a day earlier than to fly in on our original travel day. :woohoo: Only problem is we will now arrive late on August 15 and want to hit the parks early on the 16th. My question is, will they let me pick up our tickets the evening of the 15th so that I do not have to get in line again the next morning? Our package starts on August 19 (free dining) but we arrive a couple of days earlier.

Thanks for all the help.:flower3:

3 days early, only.

But you can always ASK.

Hmm can you explain a bit more or point me to a place with more info Robo?

We arrive July 5th (but are spending the day at Sea World) so won't check in to POP until late that night... our DxDDP starts on the 6th though ... we are bringing our own tickets (military ticket deal)... so when we check in on the 5th, they will be able to load our DxDDP onto the KTTW cards?

TIA!

No, the dining plan cannot be started in advance. You must check in for your package on the appointed day.

When you check in for your dining plan, that is a new stay and new room keys (KTTW cards) will be issued. Even if you spent a night or two with a room only reservation preceding your package stay at the same resort.

Does anybody know if the 3 days early ticket pick up is possible with a package reserved via Disney UK ? I asked in the UK section but unfortunately nobody was able to help.

Maybe a ticket cast member may know ????

For the poster whose package starts August 19. You can get your tickets (bt not the KTTW) on the 16th, 17th, or 18th only.

For the person from the UK: as long as you have a reservation for a package at a Disney owned and operated Resort the Early Package Ticket Pickup does apply. You have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office with your reservation information and identification.

Thank you so much for the info. I am assuming then that the tickets will be standard paper tickets as opposed to them being attached to our reservations? Not that it really matters in the end, I am just glad I am able to get them early.

If I may share a personal experience...
We stayed at CSR on a room only reservation for 3 days before our package started at the Poly. We did early ticket pick up at guest relations in DTD.
The cast member was concerned it would mess up our reservation. Something to do with the new system. He made some calls, consulted some people in the back and eventually got our tickets for us (had to go to the ticket window at DisneyQuest to physically pick them up).

When we arrived at the Poly it had completely messed up our reservation. Apparently it showed us as already checked in from the day we picked them up. It took several cast members and a manager who all seemed stumped.
After maybe 40 minutes they took us up to O'hana and got us in for breakfast while we waited.

Eventually what they ended up doing was cancelling our reservation and booking us an entirely new one.
It was a big pain for all involved.
Nobodies fault, and we were pleasant about it.. but just a cautionary tale.. it can mess with your reservation so when picking up tickets early I would inquire about it. Apparently this was a problem they have seen before. AND they are unable to put them back on the KTTW cards .. so we had to carry them with us all week.

Thanks for the info. My alternative is to pay for another set of tickets but that is a huge waste of money. We will just deal with the paper tickets. I know it is not optimal but the money difference on 5 tickets is huge. I did not think about it messing up our second reservation though. We are staying at the same resort the entire time (and hopefully the same room) so I am praying that will make the transition a bit easier. I guess I will ask at checkin about everything when time is not an issue.

I just got off the phone with a CM who told me I could not pick my tickets up 2 days earlier, and I know I read in the sticky that you could:confused3. We just wanted to use the WPM option on the tickets for 2 days until we switch hotels and check into our MYW package. If it's going to be hassle forget it. We will just mosey on over to US/IOA since we will have a car.

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Houston, Salt Lake City and somewhere in North Carolina. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access "The Hub" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into The Hub for the latest official information.

The people at DRC and MS do not deal with upgrades, partially used tickets, or problems related to tickets. They do not know all the rules. The people at DRC can sell unused tickets; the people at MS don't deal with tickets at all.

The people who work in the ticket booths at the Parks or in Guest Relations at the Parks (and this includes TTC, the Water Parks, and GRO in DTD) deal with ticket upgrades and unusual problems on a daily basis. I would not say that someone you talked to on the phone lied to you, but just they were attempting to answer a question when they really did not have an answer.

Thanks for the clarification:thumbsup2 Cause I know i read on here that people can get their tickets a couple of days early. She was basically insisting that I purchase tickets...after I declined, she asked me, "well, what are you going to do on the days you don't have tickets?":scratchin

We are staying at Pop for one night and then checking into WL for our package. Can we go to WL the day we arrive and get our tickets before our package starts the next day?

Just trying to figure out exactly how this works.

Thanks!!!

No, It has to be done at Guest Services at a park entrance or in DTD. :)

So DH has a conference at the Beach Club and we're staying in the "free" room for a few days before we're getting a MYW package with free dining at POFQ. Two phone CMs told us the same thing, we can't use extra park days before our package. But if we are checking in on the 10th we could go to say the MK's guest services on the 7th and ask to pick up our tickets early and use them for the 3 days before we check in for our package? I just want to be sure I am understanding. By adding extra days it will only cost us a fraction of what it would be to buy 3 days and then 5 days with the package.

TIA!

Yes that's correct. We got ours 2 days early at Guest Relations in DTD. We went to Disney Quest that night (we had the WP&more option) and then we went to MK the next day. You can get them up tp three days prior. You could pick them up on the 7th if your package starts on the 10th.:)
