Picking up Annual Passes problem...HELP!

My Mom bought seasonal passes for our family, and one for herself as well (surprise Christmas Gift).

Unfortunately she just broke her leg, and will be unable to go with us on this trip. I called Disney to ask what info we need to bring to pick up at will call, and the guy on the phone told us we were S.O.L. Said the only way we can get tickets is with her.

I asked him, "well, certainly lots of people buy tickets and passes as gifts for relatives....so they (the purchaser) has to fly to Orlando to be present to get the passes?". He said, "hmmm...I don't know...hold on...OK, yes, she needs to be there." I then asked, "so what happens if the parent/grandparent gets sick/injured and can't come on the trip...the entire party can't go cause the order isn't on their credit card?". He had no answer.

UGH!!! I even asked if we bring the credit card the order was placed on would that be enough. He said, "I think she needs to be there". :badpc:

Any insight or ideas on how to fix this? Our kids will be crushed if we have to cancel this trip just days away! Thanks!

I in all my trips and having will call tixs have never shown more than conf number and ID in case of Ap's

I don't know how much time you have but I would have her call and see if she can get the tickets mailed to her, then she can mail them to you.

I just bought an AP and had the choice of will call or mail. I was surprised to see there was no charge to mail, so I took that. It came in about a week.

Thanks, but leaving too soon for mail option.

I think the issue is that you are getting Florida resident passes. For every adult ticket you are activating you will need a Florida ID. I don't know if with a confirmation number you can just activate all of the tickets but hers (she would have to wait until she is there). They are pretty picky about showing proof of residency.

Not sure this would be the same but I recently renewed DDs DVC AP and she was going to Disney without me so she would not have my DVC card to activate the AP. DVC called and had a "Magic Number" (this is what it is called) assigned to the renewal. She had to have this number and a copy of my DVC card to activate her AP. Maybe call again and try talking to a supervisor. I'm sure there is something Disney can do.

So sorry your mother can't join you, hope she gets better soon.

sweetmama17 has a good point too.

My husband bought ours and he still needed to pick up as purchaser even though all adults would still have to prove residency. So him being physically present doesn't change my obligation to prove my own residency.

OP--only thing I could suggest is attempting to refund the tix and then repurchasing with your CC and having her reimburse you.

I was quite surprised that the person who made the purchase had to be present, myself. But that may have always been that way.

I would call back and ask for a supervisor. Though ultimately, it will be the a am at the ticket window who services you and over the phone answers aren't a guarantee of actual results.

Thanks for the replies so far.

We're going to try talking to the actual ticket line (they were closed last night) this morning. There's got to be something that can be done.

Also going to call the Disney Store. Maybe she can pick them up there? :confused3

An update just in case this problem ever pops up for others.

Talked to the ticket office and had them put notes in the system to release our passes to me and my wife.

When we got there (AK will call) she didn't even ask at first, just wanted the confirmation email and our id's. She asked where my Mom was and said it could be a problem (since the tickets were on her CC). A second later she said, "oh wait, there's a note on here that says you can get your passes" :cool1::yay:!

Everything was painless and we had an amazing weekend (hit all 4 parks in two days)!!!

Thanks for all the replies! :thumbsup2

Good to know!

Could you let us know what your mom specifically had to do to get that note added?
