ITA with looking at design sponge. I love their "Living in:" series of blogs (they take a movie with great style and pick furnishings and items currently available that have the same style elements and colors. Awesome.) Pick a movie or TV show you really love the look and feel of. For example: the kitchen on 'Friends' or the overall style of "The Great Gatsby" or whatever.
Personally, I find it easier to picture colors when they're in a full setting like a movie than trying to pick out a sage green from a floral print and picture it on all my walls.

We have an extreme home, and you can't buy the unusual colors and textures we have in our home at Lowes or Home Depot (not that I would want to anyways; I'm not a fan of those stores.). On 2 of our rooms we had to use a special roller that ONLY SW has. None of our walls use normal paint. They all have textures and tints or unusual undercoats, or stucco or glitters or sparkles etc etc etc. We used 6 full packs of gold glitter in my DDs pink princess room. They recommend one pack and 2-3 coats. We used 6 full sized packs and 2 coats, only applying the glitter (all of it) to the second coat. it glows like mad.
We have also found in pricing it that they not only have a larger selection, but they are also usually cheaper. Not always, but usually, at least for our uses.
