We will be in there from the 24 till the 1st. We have 6 day hopper passes and 1 PAP. We will have 2 days to do other things outside the park and were wondering if anyone has any insight on which of the 2 days between that wk to skip the parks( when they would be the most crowded)
TIA
PS is 6 days enough or should we purchase 2 day passes?
This is our first trio and are wdw vets

New Year's Eve will likely be the absolute MOST crowded. I've never had the "pleasure", but others on this board have a "never again" attitude about NYE :) I'd say the 24th and 25th will likely be the least crowded because of people spending time with their families, but still very busy. That entire week is busy. That said, six days in the park is a lot, and you should be able to see most of what you want, if not all, despite crowds.

It's tough to predict. Like sonnyjane said, NYE is going to have the most attendance.

Your six days will be plenty. Don't forget to take advantage of the PAP discounts. You get them pretty much everywhere, including downtown disney.

Christmas Day is an interesting day. It's slow in the AM and then gets pretty crowded in the PM.

Christmas Eve, the Park closes at 9pm, as opposed to midnight, so you have less time if you are a "stay until closing" visitor.

NYE is C R O W D E D. As in :crowded: at Disneyland (not DCA). Main Street is the most impacted, as in, omghowmanypeoplearehere?!!??!

People will tell you it will be more crowded than you can imagine. People will tell you "never again," (DH and I included), but you will not believe that it could be that crowded. You will believe your tolerance is higher than theirs. Then you will go. And you will say, "never again." But, you just may have to do it once, just to see it for yourself.

However, if I were to skip one day - NYE would be it.

Unless you want to see the countdown and ring in the New Year with Mickey and friends in front of the castle for a magical, unique, NYE - along with whoknowshowmany of your newest best friends who were standing shoulder to shoulder with you! :rotfl:

December trip takers,

I still have Christmas maps for both parks DCA and DLR!! If you don’t have a trip till the end of the month you still have time to get a map or a set!!

Please pm me with an address and I will quickly get them sent out!!

IF YOUR Not taking a trip and like a set anyways, I can do that also!!!

Thanks for all the advice
We have spent the last 2 NYE at WDW so were very aware of the crowds but we still have a great time. We will probable skip that day at DL.
Christmas eve is our first park day so we will probably go with shorter hours but be there by rope drop which gives us 13 hrs in the park.

According to the touringplans website, 12/29 and 12/31 are expected to be 10 out of 10 on the crowd meter. I'd skip those two days.
I went to that website I have the 2011 book but only found crowd calendar for wdw not dlr:confused3

Yeah, it's not on the "Parks" tab where you'd expect it. You have to go to the "More" tab and pick "Disneyland site". Then you can click "Crowd Calendar".

It seems that those of us who prefer Walt's original park are second-class citizens on a lot of Disney sites. But that's OK. I like belonging to an exclusive club :thumbsup2
