Picked a few not-so-populars... tell me about them!!

we went to H & V and had a great experience. It too was the only one available for the pkg to see Fantasmic. The food was plentiful and fresh. The spoon cornbread was excellent and so was the sliced meat....YOu will hear a half dozen responses to liking it and to disliking it....because it was a buffet it was a good choice for us with our grandkids...

Day5: Magic Kingdom day #2 then back to PORS for dinner at Boatwrights dining hall... this is super flexible but had heard a lot of good things about it. And being right at our resort, its a great idea for an early, easy swimming pool kinda night.

Might I suggest skipping Boatrights. We have given this place a few tries since we like to stay at POR, but it has failed us each time. The food is just not good and when you have the kind of options as Disney has, time is better spent elsewhere.

Instead, take a nice boat ride down to DTD and have dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Express. The food is very good and the portions are very filling. Prices are reasonable if paying OOP or you can use a CS credit. Then after dinner and a nice walk around DTD head over to Ghirardelli's for some ice cream. It really makes for a nice night away from the parks but not too far from the Disney feel.

Only 2 places I've been to that you have picked are Boma and San Angel Inn.
Boma- one of my absolute favorites!
San Angel Inn- My least favorite restaurant in all of WDW, the food was awful (but atmosphere is beautiful)

Victoria and Alberts is rate #1 in all of Orlando... :surfweb: Not sure I will be going there with my darling children anytime soon, but I also found the rest of these things interesting:

Boma is rated #16 of 1,226 Orlando restaurants

Grand Floridian Cafe is rated #93 of 1,226 Orlando restaurants

San angel Inn is rated #146 of 1,226 Orlando restaurants

Hollywood & Vine is rated #184 of 1,226 Orlando restaurants

Boatwright's is rated #714 of 1,226 Orlando restaurants

Spirit of Aloha is rated #103 of 167 Orlando Dinner Shows/Attractions

Le Celleir is #6, Ohana #10, Cali Grill#32, Narcoossee's #95, and (a surprising) Coral Reef #132

Check it out: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...ws-Coral_Reef_Restaurant-Orlando_Florida.html - Just type in your restaurant name followed by Orlando and it will give you the rating... interestinig info for sure!!

I do think you need to make your own decisions. Because someone does not like a certain restaurant doesn't mean a thing. Some restaurants that are quite popular and everyone loves are off my list of places to return.

I will never return to H&V ate the once 10 years ago. My children and their families had dinner there some 5 years ago and feel the same way. Some people love it though.

Never had lunch or dinner at Tony's many years ago they used to offer breakfast, love it there. Especially sitting outside. Tony's get mixed reviews some love other do not.

I love San Angels my DH hates it, I usually win out. :)

Although I've stayed at POR (back when it was Dixie Landings) have never eaten at their restaurants, I did like the food court. My children ate at the restaurant and though the food was not very good.

Never done the dinner show and never done Boma's

Another vote for "H&V is FINE!"...

I've eaten there about 4 times throughout the years... the first time was a character lunch with Chip & Dale....the last time was F! Dining Dinner-no characters....

What's funny is that I find it VERY comparable to the beloved Cape May Clambake (which I've also been to 4 times)....LESS the clams and crab.

I can see where folks would think it loud and busy...

ON the other hand...my last time eating there... I had to please me, DH, DS (Picky), DD1 (VERY PICKY) and DD2 (decided to be pescetarian that year)....and I left feeling that everyone had plenty to eat and I got my money's worth... (as much as you can at WDW).

Have a magical visit !

Ok, so I am a little behind the 8-ball with my ADR's... Mostly because we just booked to take advantage of the Free Dining in late September. Needless to say, a lot of my first choices are booked!! I am hoping to call and call and call until I get what i want, but just to be on the safe side, this is what i have... Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!! BTW - we have basic tix, no PH's...

Day1: Hollywood Studios - late lunch at Hollywood & Vine and then Fantasmic that night....

Day2: Magic Kingdom Day #1 - dinner at Tony's Town Square - not sure I had ever heard of this place, untill it was one of the only places left.... is that good ot bad?? PS Also our anniversary. Not many nice places to eat at MK... non-princess or buffett that is.

Day3: Animal Kingdom then dinner at Boma

Day4: Epcot and San Angel Inn for dinner - ate there as a kid, but not in a long long time... Tellme about it...

Day5: Magic Kingdom day #2 then back to PORS for dinner at Boatwrights dining hall... this is super flexible but had heard a lot of good things about it. And being right at our resort, its a great idea for an early, easy swimming pool kinda night.

Day6:Flex day - no schedule expect for Spirit of Aloha Dinner show at 5pm - I have wanted to go here for a long time and are finnaly fitting it into our schedule this trip!! Super excited!! :goodvibes No need to change anything this day!!

1. Hollywood & Vine - we ate here once and that was enough so I wouldn't recommend it based on a lot of negative reviews here on the DIS as well. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of decent dining options at DHS. Since it seems you're spending the entire day at DHS, why not take a nice, relaxing break by catching a boat to BC, YC or S&D which offer more appealing dining venus.

2. Tony's Town Square - I haven't eat here so I can't give you a personal review but I don't recall reading too many negative comments. Again, you'd really open up your options by taking a monorail to one of the nearby resorts such as the Poly, CR or GF.

3. Boma - definitely keep this one! We've eaten breakfast there several times and dinner last summer for the first time. We rated it the best buffet dinner at WDW. Some are timid about trying some of the more seemingly exotic menu items but there was nothing we tried that we didn't like. A strictly meat and potatoes person might not like it but dinner has been added as a must do for our future trips.

4. San Angel Inn - don't know if things have changed but I'd put it in the same category as Taco Bell, maybe Acapulco if I'm being generous. But then again I'm from California so authentic Mexican food is easy to find out here. I'd keep calling to see if there's availability elsewhere at Epcot. My suggestions would be Tutto Italia, Teppan Edo, Rose and Crown.

5. Boatwrights - see #2.

6. Spirit of Aloha - please take this with a grain of salt as I haven't seen the show but I' was also interested in it at first but have read a lot of negative reviews of both the food and entertainment. It's quite a lot to spend if paying out of pocket or use of two dining credits per person. But who knows, maybe they've made some improvements. I would recommend doing a bit more research by reading some recent reviews.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't pay attention to the fact that you're doing the FDP. In that case, I'd recommend the lesser of three evils which would be Brown Derby. I thought the food was pretty good albeit overpriced. The trip before last we at Mama Melrose - the food was mediocre and the service was the worst I've ever had at WDW.
