Pick our dinners!

I recommend the following-

Magic Kingdom Area:

Citricos
'Ohana
I love the food and the atmosphere at both these places. They will both you a nice change and experience.

Epcot Area:
Cape May Café - nice buffet variety in one of my favorite deluxe resorts
La Hacienda de San Angel - Good food and awesome view. Try to get seated here around 8:15 pm so you can see the 9 pm fireworks.

Enjoy your trip!!!!!!!

Really? REALLY??? :scared1:

Kind of surprised that you even enjoy walking around the parks, then.

:sad2:
In the parks is one thing, but not while I'm having a meal.

I like my meals to be respites from the sensory overload of the parks. It's exhausting to be 'on' all of the time, and everything I know about the 1900 Park Fare meals makes it sound like its the most 'on' of any of the character dining experiences. I'd much rather enjoy the company at the table without also having to humor roaming entertainment.

Truthfully, I really don't get the appeal of character dining experiences at all.

My choices would be

MK - The Wave and Citricos

Epcot - Flying Fish and Yachtsman

On our next trip, we'd like to have two sit-down dinners in the Magic Kingdom area and two in the Epcot area. Following are the restaurants in both areas that we have yet to try. Please pick two of each and, if you care to, explain your choices. We are a party of two in our late 20s/early 30s. We don't use a dining plan, so credits and participation are not an issue. We usually eschew character meals and buffets. I'm including them in our options just for variety's sake, but we really prefer signature restaurants and a la carte menus.

Magic Kingdom Area
1900 Park Fare
Chef Mickey's
Cinderella's Royal Table
Citricos
Crystal Palace
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue
'Ohana
Trail's End
Whispering Canyon Café

Can't comment much on the Epcot restaurants, as we tend to eat more at Magic Kingdom area restaurants-we LOVE chef mickey's, we like it for dinner but breakfast is good too (cheaper and nice fresh food), and I know you don't like character meals much, but this one is great, its classic characters and its not too loud there

My husband LOVED the food at Cinderella's royal table, I liked it too, it was classy food, but again there are characters, but its not too crowded or loud (IMO)

Hoop Dee Doo...is something else lol. Its fun, all you can drink beer, awesome fried chicken and ribs...and the show is funny, its great for kids but a lot of adult friendly humor too...I hated it as a kid but as an adult have found a new appreciation for it

Crystal palace for breakfast is always a must do, but this one does tend to be crowded and loud, but its a gorgeous place with great food (I prefer breakfast there), and when you are done eating, you walk right out into the magic kingdom, its amazing

Thanks! It's nice to see someone mention La Hacienda. It's one that we're considering. It was open the last time we went but we didn't make time for it.

My choices would be

MK - The Wave and Citricos

Epcot - Flying Fish and Yachtsman

Thanks. Flying Fish and the Yachtsman are both quite good. If we decide not to visit only restaurants that are new to us, we may go back to Flying Fish. We're thinking now that Citricos is a must.

Citricos, Il Mulino, and Tokyo Dining

Thank you. All three are top contenders for us now.

Thank you! Hoop Dee Doo is something that has been recommended to us over and over since our first trip together, but we've never made time for it. We should probably remedy that in the near future. And I think I agree with you about Crystal Palace. If we to decide to try it, it will probably be for breakfast. I'm sure the restaurant looks very pretty in morning light.

I discussed this with DH and we both agree that at the Magic Kingdom area you should go to HDDR or O'hanas (you can get a nice fruity tropical drink either before or after your dinner), and at the Epcot area go to either Teppan Edo or La Hacienda de San Angel. Good luck and have a great time :goodvibes

MK:
- Citricos (wonderful food and service)
- 1900 Park Fare (great food and the characters are a hoot!)

Epcot:
- Tokyo Dining (delicious and usually not too crowded)
- Marrakesh (the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is fantastic)
I also have to throw in a third for you: La Hacienda (get a later ressie and watch Illuminations while you eat! You can do this at Rose & Crown too, and the food is great! :thumbsup2

Happy planning! :goodvibes
