Hey everbody , i really badly want to play the piano bot my mom said we cant afford it and i am sooo bumed do u have and suggestions on what i can do? thankx!

Buy some books and teach yourself, once you know how to read the notes piano is a lot easier, you don't really need lessons to learn it.

I took piano lessons for several years, and it is definitely one of my favourite things. Mine (if I remember correctly) were about 25$ an hour, which is pricey, but definitely worth it! I play by ear really well, and don't use sheet music so I often use Youtube tutorials like Disneychick said and just repeatedly listen to a song until I pick it up. Best of luck, and I'd be more than happy to help you, if you have questions! My PM box is open. :)

I go on youtube and look up ShawnCheeckeasy.

Like everyone else said, go on youtube or buy a book. I've never been musically gifted but I had to take a class called "Music Theory and Analysis" last year, which was extremely difficult, but I learned the notes and can read sheet music now. So if your school offers a class like that, try it.

I actually had the same problem.
So I got Playing Piano for Dummies in Barnes & Noble.
I actually really like it, but generally forget to do it.
I just need some more motivation. Ha

Thaknz everybody for all the awesome suggestions! but i then asked this kid at my school about where he does his piano lessons and how much it costs. he said his lessons were 19$ a half hour! for one day a week. and 76$ a month. so that is awesome and my mom and dad said they will check it out and that is defintley a yes! but i still will think about everybodys suggestions and thanks again.

You don't need to be able to read music to play the piano. I mean, sure, it doesn't hurt by any means, but remember that soul is part of it too. Improvisation never hurt anyone.

I realy wish I could play by ear.

I read like super-fast... but playing by ear? not so much.

I mean, I can barely look at the notes and play them (glance up), but I can't memorize it.
