The space formally occupied by a recording studio on Pleasure Island is finally undergoing the necessary renovations to turn it into a new Surf Shop store. This is immediately to the west of 8TRAX and adjacent the PI automated ticketing machines.
The building that formerly housed the Missing Link fast food restaurant as well as a few other stores remains empty. The venues closed more than a year ago and the building was totally renovated. But since then nothing has happened and I can't get a straight answer out of anyone as to what's holding things up. I keep getting told "permits" but I'm skeptical since I would think Disney can do pretty much anything in one of its own towns.
The barricade walls around the T-REX Restaurant construction site had attractive T-REX graphics added to it in the past couple weeks. Definitely generates a bit of excitement for what's coming!
