I don't know if I can consider the first week of August to be recent, but if it helps... they were doing the five for $5 then. I just gave in and bought an annual pass to PI since I'm going this November and again in the summer.

Last week of August this deal was not being advertised at the PI ticket windows, but first week of August this deal was. Probably withdrawn concurrent with the dropping of the single admission to $17.

Had a premium AP so didn't ask further questions.
