We are doing a short section on electricity and currents and stuff like that. We each picked a device and we need to learn how it works then make a study guide explaining what we learned.
My teacher gave us a book to use and a website to look at...neither of which have info on the electric iron (the device I picked).
When I search on a search engine...I only get businesses trying to sell electric irons.
I need to go in tomorrow with info.
PLEASE HELP!:(

I was going to suggest howstuffworks.com...but I checked it and the Iron must be the only darn appliance NOT on there! I'll bet that's the website you were given too right? ;) Well, you know to pick'em Norah!
I will ask my resident physicists (DD and DH...it's way beyond me ;) and get back to you in a bit if they can come up with any suggestions for you! In the meantime, breathe! ;) :)

I didn't pick this iron...it was assigned to me..I don't even iron let alone know how it works!

Probably couldn't find it because of the simplicity. It is essentially a heating element. Try this:

Heating Element

Heating coffee, a stove, toaster or an iron are all pretty much the same.
