Physical Tickets Needed?

If I have my park hopper linked to my magic band, is there any reason why I would need to hold onto my actual ticket? Should I pack it and bring to the park just in case or can I just throw the ticket away?

Has anyone not had their magic band scan properly at the turnstile and needed to show ticket to gain entrance?

I do have to upgrade my 7-day hopper to an 8-day hopper after my first day - will they use my magic band for that or will they need to see the actual ticket?

I'm a bit of a worry wart so I would bring the actual ticket too. Yes sometimes the magic bands don't work properly.

We buy our tickets with our resort package so we don't even have physical tickets - we've never had an issue relying on our Magic Bands. It's not like they take up a ton of space, though - carry them if it makes you feel better!

We weren't issued with physical tickets- everything was done on the Magic Band, and there was no other option for us.

If you buy tickets elsewhere (UT, etc..), I would absolutely carry them. While I never personally had trouble, the family we were traveling with had a terrible time. Almost every time we tried to get in a park, one person's MB wouldn't work and we would spend 30 minutes at guest services, which was very annoying at rope drop. Sometimes the MB worked for entry and then not FP, sometimes the opposite. On day 3, they just started using their physical tickets for everything.

I had them with me at all times but never needed them. I felt more comfortable having them in case of some kind of glitch.

Good to know. Guess I will be packing them then. Was just trying to consolidate the amount of cards going into DH's wallet, lol. He likes to keep it as "thin" as possible - not going to happen when traveling with ME, lol.

Anyone who relies on a magic band to be 100% foolproof does so at their own peril.
